got the second mail a couple of weeks ago, but was just for asking further documents...so, I've yet to receive your 2nd mail...do you have an idea of their timing in releasing decisions?

Hey Stagista,
may I ask what further documents they were looking for?
In any case, I got the second email and it says the following:
" The Graduate Program Admissions staff has reviewed your file and has determined that it is complete.
Please note that decisions regarding TOEFL and fee waiver requests will be communicated to you in a separate email, if applicable.
NOTE: Occasionally, we may request additional materials pertaining to your application; if so, we will notify you via e-mail. Any materials that you submit at our request will not be considered 'late'.
We regret that we are unable to accept updated CVs/resumes, revisions to personal statements, or new recommendation letters. We welcome new TOEFL scores when available; please be sure to have ETS send us your new report as soon as it is available.
If you are currently enrolled in a degree program:
If you have received fall and/or winter grades and/or a transcript for the degree that is to be completed in 2009, please send it to us as soon as it is available.
Admission decisions will be made by late March 2009; you will be notified of your decision via the mailing address for all correspondence that you have provided on your application. If your preferred address should change between now and the time of admissions decisions, please reply to this e-mail with your preferred address.
If you should have any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Your e-mail is important to us, and will be answered as soon as we are able. Due to the high volume of e-mails, please anticipate delays.
Graduate Admissions "
So as you can see, offers for admission are not likely to come out before the end of March. That's why I decided to stop checking this website for a while, the crucial moment is so far away!:)
Hope this helps.

no problem in disclosing such information. they asked me for a certified translation of my erasmus transcripts...in my opinion, it was completely useless to their decision, but since they asked...that was almost 10 days ago, by the way. I look forward to receive the same mail you received very soon...

Funny thing they send e-mails on a weekend, hum?

Hi stagista
Do u think they will again send u the second mail as u already recieved though it asked for materials.
Even I received the second mail 2 weeks back where the Grad Prog Office told me that they have not received 2 recos and asked to have the recommenders send it by e-mail followed via regular mail...
I had it done...
So now, will they confirm the receipt of complete application again???

hope so, but I cannot be 100% sure of what I'm telling you. I'm likely to enquire later next week, just to make sure they'll pay some care to my file. Besides, I've learnt that this stuff takes so long, that I'm not expecting to hear from them before late March...
Posted Jan 25, 2009 18:13
Even I will confirm next week...

i received an incomplete e-mail for my 2nd e-mail. Sent in the outstanding items and received a completion e- mail. So i would think they would out another e-mail to you once the file is complete.
cheers,
G

Michaelcorleone, I applied the same day...then just wait till march...hahahaha
Posted Jan 26, 2009 23:36
2 months to go so...just hope they won't delay any later...this waiting is killing me, but I'm lucky I've till early april to save a spot at NU...what about you guys? how are you moving between waiting and admissions already received?
Posted Jan 27, 2009 00:43
i gave up my slot in nyu-nus and will be waiting for the nyu-nyc package. no info on deadline yet, but i expect it to be sometime in march. that's my only admission so far. good thing i'm involved in some pretty cool things right now, otherwise i'd have nothing else to think about. i'd also like to lose weight and become ripped. i started doing push-ups again.

Hey, the missing information was my date of birth (for some reason, not sure why) and i gave it through my e-mail reply. Received my complete e-mail the next day!

Applied in mid november and finally received the second e-mail today... now I know my app is complete. Does anyone knows if they contact you by email before sending ordinary mail? I certainly hope so because here in Colombia ordinary mail is a mess...It would be possible for me to receive any notice in late march...but 2010.
