Anybody been admitted of the waitlist yet?

Nope. Still waiting...

I was waitlisted about a month ago... haven't heard anything since...
Posted Apr 10, 2009 23:32
They extended the deadline to respond to the admissions offer until April 10 (at least in my case). I just declined the offer, so someone on the wait list should be happy soon.

I am also still waiting....

I am in!!!! Just a few minutes ago I received the e-mail from Mr. Guzman telling me that I was accepted in their LLM Program.
I wish to you all who are waiting so much luck and for those who are already in, I look forward to meeting you on August.
Cheers!

I declined my offer too, so one person will get lucky soon and subsequently, the waiting list would be moving forward.

I was accepted today. I am from Mexico. I just dont know if I will accept the offer, I still have time to decide. I just need to make my mind between Northwestern and Berkeley...related to corporate. Any opinion would be greatly appreciate it.

Me, too. From Beijing. Did anyone receive the financial aid offer letter separate from the admission decision letter? I not.

I've also been admitted yesterday. However, I have an offer from Vanderbilt with a $18,000 scholarship. When I applied last year, Berkeley clearly was my favourite, but during the alst weeks, I kind of canceled all hope and settled with Vandy. I don't think I will get any financial aid from Berkeley and it will be at least May until I hear from several German scholarships.
Now I have to make up my mind again. I'm especially interested in IP and comparative constitutional law (strange combination, I know), so what would you do? Or is this actually a no-brainer?

Hi Fara, where are you from (name sounds Persian)?
Given your choice of specialisms Berkeley "fits the bill"; however, Vandy is a great school as well, if money is not an issue for you, then go to UCB. Otherwise, Again, Vandy is a great school, and because of the 18K you are basically getting half the tuition paid off for the program, and it is cheaper to live in Nashville than in SF.
I am from Costa Rica and was accepted at Berkeley but requested and was finally given a deferral last week (so i guess someone in the waitlist got lucky) for a year to sort out my finances (do not want to draw upon a private loan to do the LL.M. since it is not worth the financial implications); since i did not get any meaningful financial aid (was given $2,000) from UCB. Hence, i doubt that you will get any substantive fin. aid/grants from Berkeley (based on my "findings" most people got between $1,000 to $3,000, with the later being very rare)
I was called by Prof. Guzman to discuss my deferral request and he said that the university is being affected by the California budget shortfall and that unfortunately they did not forsee this to change over the next few years; hence, do not expect meaningul financial grants from UCB. However, in any case, i would suggest that you contact UCB and let them now what Vandy offered you, and see if they can do something for you. I have seen a lot of people do that with other schools, some with success others not, but it doesn't hurt to try. I know that UCB is having a hard time filling the seats this year, given that they gave all of the admitted students automatic extensions to accept the offer.
