Berkeley v Penn for Int'l Law

I am trying to decide between Berkeley and Penn for an LLM focusing on international law. Any thoughts? I'll be settling in Hawaii and I think Berkeley has more name recognition there, but Penn has a higher ranking and great history. I'm torn. Still waiting on any word from Columbia, but not very hopeful at this late date.
Thanks

My situation is exactly the same...I have been admitted by Penn and Berkeley waiting for Columbia and Stanford..Actually I want to live in the west coast not -30 degrees NYC or Phili..Both schools are great I dont care about the ranking...I really dont know what to do..The only thing that I know I want to live in San Fransisco for more than one years and maybe continue my JSD studies there..tough decision..

Seems like a pretty easy decision from what you said : Berkeley.

I'm not sure about Berkeley.
But I think U PENN may satisfy your learning requirement more not only since its high ranking but its history and experts devote much effort to international law.
BTW, I also wanna involve in international law, may "lilijane" and "Pacoatemiami" tell me what kind of experience, personality or achievement you have to let these famous law schools accept you? Just give me some advices, plz!!! lol

My employer has ruled out Berkeley in favor of Penn. About my background... I have 3.6 GPA from a college nobody has heard of and below average grades from University of San Diego Law School, They must have liked my 14 years military experience and/or my personal statement. It certainly wasn't any demonstrated academic talent.
