I am 3L US student at USD and have been put on the waitlist. Does anyone know then movement on the waitlist for the Domestic LLM programs, not comparative law?
To the domestic students- Is anyone aware of the prestige of a ucla llm? I am very aware of their usnwr JD rankings, but does the same correlate to the LLM program? It has always been my impression that llm's are much easier to get into comparatively than the jd program because the best and brightest will have been employed after graduation and that an llm is not that great of an asset outside of tax law. as my classmate put it, "it is the last refuge of scoundrals." Is this true? Do employers look favorably on an llm? I plan to pursue a bankruptcy/tax llm if admitted if that helps your answer.

Dear.....
Thank you for your email. The Graduate Studies Committee is currently reviewing applications, and I hope to inform you of the Committee's decision within the next three weeks. As we received the largest number of applications in our program's history this year, we sincerely appreciate your patience as the Committee works to reach its decisions.
Thank you again for your interest in UCLA. I will notify you by email as soon as a decision is made.
Sincerely,
Vic Telesino

Okay. Now I'm very concerned. I mean, the 'largest in history'? Please tell me that's just an expression.

Hi Opaloise.
I applied to NY (NYU and Columbia),DC, Franklin Law Center. I'm still waiting for the replies from the others universities, and pursuant to this forum I'm not alone... Guess that the others law schools have received "the largest number of application of their histories too".
Bonne chance !

waitlisted too...
I should expect waitlisting an applicant is an implicit rejection of their financial aid application. Any ideas?
What are your thoughts on choosing between USC with a significant amount of scholarship or UCLA (in the event that I am accepted) with no scholarship?
Thanks!
S.
