Hi every one!
I`m from Russia too. Was accepted by QM. But I`m not sure of ranking this university. What do you think of our perspective after study at QM. May I acquire job in UK?

@Evgeniya
Normally, in order to qualify in the UK, you must either have an LLB+LPC+2 years of training contract (very hard to obtain, especially now). An LLM is not a qualifying law degree in this respect, and generally, City law firms would prefer to hire an LLM graduate in his home jurisdiction, where he can be a licensed lawyer, rather than in the UK.

I am from France (and you can know much more about me in this topic : http://www.llm-guide.com/board/70550)

Hey everybody
QM offered me a place in llm in Comparative Law and International Dispute Resolution.
Frankly speaking, I know little about this field of law, but I heard that this field is very narrow-scoped and not quite suitable for fresh legal graduates without practical experience.
I also heard that QM had performed excellently in the Viena moot international commercial arbitration.
The deadline for me to accept the offer is coming, however I still don't know if this is the right choice, Would anyone who
know something about this major or the international arbitration center of QM please give me some guidance.
Thank you in advance.

Thank you for your replay. I am just wondering if you now someone who got LCP without LLB (with overseas higher and postgrad education). Is it possible?

I do not personnaly know anyone in such situation, but there is a way of reaching a LPC (and, more, the training contract ; the selection is not based on the education and training, but on the employment market - very tough these times).
If you are a qualified lawyer in your home jurisdiction, you can pass the Qualified LAwyers Transfer Test. I understand this is not your case.
If you are not a qualified lawyer, but have a degree who matches a Bachelor's degree (even whatever the subject, it can be in science, language, or in non-English law, even if you have a postgraduate education), you can take the Graduate Diploma in Law/Common Professionnal Examination. This is a one year course wherein you study all the compulsory English law modules taken by any English law student (English contract law, English tort law, English equity & trusts, English criminal law, EU law - which might be transferrable if you have already studied that in your home country - English property law and English public law).
This is expensive (around £15,000, sponsorship is possible from law firms, but only if you have a very strong degree and an outstansing personnality and/or experience), and very intense because basically you will learn what law student are expected to study in two or three years.
And after that, you have the right to... continue your legal studies and to undertake the LPC (1 year, around £10,000 in London, unless sponsored by a law firm), and in the end, if you are lucky enough to get a training contract (during which you are paid, for 2 years) you are qualified in the UK
The most famous GDL/CPE and LPC providers are The College of Law and BPP Law School. These are not universities but professionnal schoolS.

QM offered me a place in llm in Comparative Law and International Dispute Resolution.
I am sorry, I do not get that. Do you mean that QMUL made you an offer for which you did not apply?
I also tought that once you had an offer from QMUL, unlike other londonian universities, you had a little time to change your modules and specialisation of your LLM.
I quote http://www.law.qmul.ac.uk/postgraduate/llm/faq/#app8
Q: Do I need to indicate the options I wish to take on the application form as requested?
No. In fact this portion of the application form can be ignored - you simply need to indicate that you are applying for the LLM under the Course Title section.
No further information on your courses is needed at the application stage.
I am slightly confused...

Thanks my friend
On the application form of QM,you can select two different
fields of law. I guess they wanted to give you the opportunity to choose your favorite, meanwhile you can choose an alternative subject in case your first choice is too hot to get a
place.
I applied QM because of its fame in commercial law teaching. Therefore, I applied commercial and corporate law
in the first place and take comparative and international dispute resolution as a backup. Although I know the my second choice is also taught by the commercial law study center, it is still a brand new field for me and not very attractive.
Would you please give me some information about that subject?
