Crap - I've heard nothing. Rejection coming my way...


Equally as forlorn. Our CVs must be too weak at the moment. We can build them up over the coming year and be the vanguard of 2018-19 entry...


Don't beat yourselves up. I know outstanding candidates (frankly, much better candidates than myself) who are still waiting! There are hundreds of applications to get through and they need to make sure that they get it right and do not reject/admit someone by accident. I am sure that that is why the outcomes of your applications have not been communicated.

I applied on the 19th of January and my last references were sent in on the 20th

I submitted my application on January 19th. My last reference got in on January 23rd.

I'm afraid that's not going to be helpful. There's probably no correlation between that and the time the offer was made :-/

Yes, sorry, there doesn't seem to be any correlation to alphabet (my last name starts with W) or date of application (mine was submitted completely up to the wire).

Those who have not recieved an offer are deemed to be rejected? Anyone who is in wait-list? I am expecting a rejection but still want it to be expressly communicated.

I think there's still some hope. I mean, they said they'd get back to us by Friday, so there's still quite a while to go... but I'm not that optimistic.

To be fair, they have about 90 slots for the BCL, and I don't think all have been communicated yet (I could be wrong, of course). Looks like the wait is going to be long!

Just received a rejection from Oxford. I had anticipated it but was waiting for the formal communication.
One thing I learnt was to write a story in 300 words. Many congratulations for the offer holders...

I graduated at the top of my class with first class honours from my country's best University and a special mention for my final dissertation. At Uni, I created a scholarship programme, funded by students, that has provided 9 full undergraduate scholarships so far for underpriviledged students. 2 years work experience with NGOs...

Guess I'll try again next year!
