Also got my rejection for the BCL today. This is a bitter pill to swallow, but I will manage to do so. I knew the competition would be tough, and that I would be against people with excellent CVs but I also genuinely thought mine was strong enough for a decent chance. I will strengthen my CV over the coming year and apply again next year.

I am sorry to hear about your rejections but remember its only because of the limited spaces and not because you are not good enough. Keep working hard in everything and you will definitely get where you set your eyes on.

Just got a rejection email... Too bad, I honestly wasnt expecting it.
I graduated at the top of my class with first class honours from my country's best University and a special mention for my final dissertation. At Uni, I created a scholarship programme, funded by students, that has provided 9 full undergraduate scholarships so far for underpriviledged students. 2 years work experience with NGOs...
Guess I'll try again next year!
Keep up the good work. You are doing a great job.

Hello everyone!I am just wondering, if you are accepted by both Oxford and Cambridge, i.e., Magister Juris Programme and the LLM Programme, which will you choose? And why?
Posted Mar 22, 2017 20:33
Has anyone heard about the allocation of scholarships of the University of Oxford? Has anyone been already awarded with an Oxford scholarship?
Posted Mar 23, 2017 12:22
I think at least some of the colleges have decided on placements. Based on an email from Oxford's fees department, I was told that it appears that I'm in Magdalen College and that I should contact that college directly regarding fees.
Posted Mar 24, 2017 04:16
I can confirm the college placements. I received an offer from Oriel College last Monday. No scholarship was awarded though I was invited to apply to one. *sigh*

Did you apply to Oriel? Just wondering, as I'd imagine people who got in to their first choice college will hear significantly earlier :)

Did anyone apply to Balliol college?
Posted Mar 24, 2017 23:46
I did, but I haven't heard from them. In fact, I haven't received any communication but the offer to the MJur.Did anyone apply to Balliol college?
So, I'll guess we'll have to wait a little longer. I think many applicants chose Balliol. It is famous, right?

No, I did an open application (no college preference). :)

I couldn't choose Magdalen College when I applied. Is it only for BCL and not Mjur?

Is it a terrible choice not to choose a preferred college? I didn't choose in my application. Does anybody know how would the college be arranged then?

Hey guys,
I checked the Clarendon Scholars list from the last 5 years, and I didn't find anyone from the MJur :(
There were like 4 from the BCL.

I did not choose a college but was offered by Oriel (an old college ranked 2nd at the norrington table) which turned out to be a good decision since they have available funding which matches my profile. I read that the university does try to match you with available funding as much as possible so that's what probably happened in my case?

Have they made the Clarendon offers to law already? I read from TSR that someone from humanities received an offer a few days ago

No, I'm very sorry I wasn't clear. I mean that I checked the scholar lists of 2011 to 2016. I see no list of this year, so I think the scholarships haven't been allocated yet. But my point is that the MJur students may not be a usual target of the Clarendon panel :(
I hope you are admitted to the BCL.
What is TSR?
