Hi
As far as the Msc. goes, they only send you a letter. In my case, since i had paid the centre a visit one week before admission, the superbly polite and friendly secretary for the course sent me an e-mail stating the result.
But the results arrived pretty quickly (by regular mail standards), in one week or so.
I think that on the 20th we are allowed to call and ask, though....

:-) I have no problem taking a bigger piece of that pie. I'm at peace with my insanity. I figure we're all a bit kooky in our own ways and better to be mildly ridiculous than hurtful.
And I'm lucky that my friends and family are very patient with me. (Although after the past month and a half their patience is wearing thin, or they think I've made this whole "applying to Cambridge" thing up...)

Warning: if you live somewhere where the post from the UK might take a long time to reach, there's the chance you won't hear anything by this Friday. That doesn't mean you're not in - remember the post might take a while to reach you!
And even more important, remember what was said:
To all those who don't make the Oxford cut, remember that there is life beyond the BCL, life beyond masters programs, and, if nothing else, there is always next year.
Not to say that the results will be released imminently or anything ;)

PS in my experience when Oxford says 'post' they mean post, not email. That is just my experience tho.

Thanks for the good news jagsmehn!!!!!... just the thought of worrying about any acceptance letters being misplaced or forever lost in my country's VERY UNRELIABLE post system + the longer wait, were freaking me out (I'm Colombian BTW). At least now I'll know if I got accepted.

Haha, I think Jag and I are in the run for the prize too.
The prize goes to Jag!!!
He's just better at hiding it than the rest of you guys. (-:

Only if this substantiates any of your prize winning arguments..
Today, when I opened the UK-IRL box on LLM-Guide, there was this "Oxford BCL" thead, and I had a casual glance to find that offers are being released. Cant explain what I went through for the first few moments. Then I saw Bender's post and realised this was all for 2008..
Just for a second it was as if a whole lifetime had passed through the last night...
I laughed out loud when I read your post Jag!
(-: (-: (-:
You are one of a kind. Whether it be Ox or Cam I do look forward to meeting all of you.
Thanks for the early morning pick-me-upper! I was starting to get bored studying for the Jessup this weekend...By the way has any one of you ever participated in it, or plan to this year....?
P.S. This is not a subtle attempt to change the subject. Feel free to respond and then get right back to the countdown!

I didn't participate in Jessups or Stetson just because they revolve around International Law which interests me the least...
But, I guess there's a lot of esteem involved in the two moots...
A few of the people I know around here seem to be so engrossed with the repute of these 2 moots that they think that any one making it to the Country finals or semi-finals of Jessups and Stetson (not to talk of the World round) are assured of a place at Oxbridge/Yale/HLS..(even at the cost of missing a First or a top 5% finish within the class). It would be an interesting scenario if that were to be true. Most of the seats would be taken by these guys alone, leaving very little for others...Any opinions ?
Gosh Jag.
Where do you get these things?
No one could ever accuse you of not having your ear to the ground. You must be the King of Gross Exaggeration
[ ..making it to a mooting round = being "assured" a place at Oxbridge ]
I have never heard anything of the sort...there cannot be any substitute for a quality degree, and I can't imagine any rational human being entertaining such thoughts.

Ear to the ground? There's an old joke...
Tonto and the Lone Ranger are riding through the open country when when Tonto stops, gets off his horse and puts his ear to the ground.
"Buffalo, been here" Tonto Says
"Really?" Asks the Lone Ranger, "How do you know that"
"My ear is stuck to the ground"
;)
