Oxford BCL and Cambridge LLM Applicants 2009

It is never my intention to incite another argument. Sorry if my earlier post had that unintended effect. In fact my original intention was to bring in some peace; unfortunately, the act was proved to be counter-productive.

As I said, this thread has been wonderful thus far. We are entirely free to express our opinion and disagreeing parties are entitled to refute; but genuine discussion on an issue shouldnt result in such childish arguments. Perhaps, the words had been ruled by some irrational emotions. Let us try to not to let some negative feelings taint this place and keep this thread as positive and informative as possible :-)

Anyways, for those who had received an email regarding conditional offer from Ms Suzanne Wade- I had called her up last week and was told that we could expect to receive the package by end of March.

Another genuine question to ask: it seems like some of the applicants had received the offer by posts, as I think somebody mentioned that the offer she/ he received is dated back in Jan? I assume those are applicants in UK? Did the letter set out the detailed conditions to be met?

Thanks,
ZC

When Suzanne sent the email to us, there was an attached document entitled Cambridge LLM Conditional Offer and the document was dated Jan 2009.

I don't think anyone has received an offer by post. I think they were talking about the confirmation that Cambridge sent out by post to confirm that it had received the application.

Thanks so much jj2009!!!

haha, I've never thought of the possibility that the date mentioned was actually the date of the document attached in the email!

As the document entitled Cambridge LLM Conditional Offer is a standard document, I would think that is actually the date on which that document was finalised, but not in relation to when a particular offer was made.

Thanks again for clarifying my doubts...at least now I won't be so anxiously waiting for the postage!

No problem :-)
Don't worry about it. Maybe by the time you receive the package from Cambridge, you've already got an offer from Oxford, haha, who knows.

Haha...it would have been a miracle if I had received such offer from Oxford- as Cam is the only school that I had applied for...

(Actually, I'm now a little bit regretting over this not so prudent move- should have tried out both instead, argh!)

sigh...you know that- stacks of CLP books, notes and past year questions are lying there seductively, awaiting me to explore them...

But they just can't keep my attention for long!

Has anyone applied to Oxford's Mjur?? I asume that offers will be made at the same time for BCL and Mjur candidates, just wanted to double check no one has heard from them either.

Hey,
I've applied for an Mjur and i didn't hear anything from Oxford till now! However, & based on last year's posts, i strongly believe that Mjur applicants will hear decisions in the same time of which BCL applicants will hear their decsions!
Good Luck

Hey everyone,

I received an email from Suzanne Wade today reminding me to send in my statement of purpose for the AHRC funding application. In her email, she says:

"Please do not worry that this page gives a deadline of 30 January for sending in statements, as the Faculty of Law extended this deadline as we wanted to give all eligible applicants with an LLM offer the opprtunity to register their interest in AHRC funding. However, we now need to receive the statement urgently and so please send it to me by next Monday (16 March) at the latest if you wish to be considered."

This makes me think that at least all people eligible for AHRC funding will get their offer from Cambridge by the 16th March...

Anyways, I don't want to add to the speculation...but just thought I'd let you guys know in case you ticked the box for AHRC funding and you are still waiting to receive an offer...
