Jag, I think what the Law Faculty says might not reflect on how the Graduate Admission Office would act. They might be too busy sorting out all the offers for all the subjects. And until CAMSIS is updated, I don't think the offer letter would even be printed out.

I would personally want a better tracking system. I would like to know when my application is completed, when is it is sent to the Law Fact, when it is being considered by the Law Fac, when it is considered by the preferred colleges, etc. That would take off much of the anxiety and the never-ending e-mail checkings. The same is proposed for Oxford.

Indeed my good friend jags is quite correct - when I spoke to the Law Faculty it was noted that I would have heard from them within a week (or at least the first round of offers were being made that last week of Jan/first week of Feb).

Which is quite true because the attached word document sent to all offerees is dated Jan 2009.

BOGS has a lot more than just ourselves to me dealing with, and as those of us who have heard already from Suzanne via email, the formal offers will be arriving over the next couple of weeks, and we should not be worried about any delay!....ambiguity - oh what a foe!

If that really happens, I would offer you a place to do the Phd and link you to scholarship opportunities, haha.

I would have done the PhD by the time... :) Thanx anyways...

I guess there would be other things at the back of the mind by then...

No update in my camsis either.....

"The e-mail from Law Deptt. never arrived and he got an offer on Camsis a few days later and the offer letter by regular post from BOGS was the sole piece of communication he recieved"

I have not received any email for Oxbridge either, neither regarding documents that needed to be sent, nor when my application was complete. In the first case, I received a letter by post from Oxford, stating they hadn't received the letters of recommendation yet (useless to say the post is sooooo slow in my country, I received the letter two weeks after the letters had been submitted by the referees and almost a month after it was sent), and a letter from Cambridge stating my application was complete. Nooo emails ever.

Judging from this, I fear in my case there is no reason to expect an email, and what you just said confirms my fear. Ahhh! Torturing wait! Why don't they use UPS, like the Americans? No one uses the post anymore!!!

A word to the wise: relax. If you're going to get an offer, you'll get an email. Camsis will take forever to be updated and packages in the mail won't generally arrive until sometime in April. As for the timing, offers are usually made in January. They are made after that until sometime in April (or later, I suppose, if one is one the waiting list and a spot opens up).

There is no conspiracy. The process just takes time. But agonizing every day about when you'll hear won't help. Indeed, it is only likely to make things worse. If you're that concerned, contact the Faculty (who will make you the offer in the first instance, but they will be very busy sorting through applications) and ask when you might hear. And then wait patiently. Seriously, you guys are going to give yourselves ulcers.
