Ok.. They send out offers even as late as April end.. so you never know...

Exactly, that's my point. So, be optimistic.

Jags,

My approach is to blame it (not getting a response yet) on everything except my credentials. If as of yet your country has no offer (as in my case) then blame it on regional offers... If your country has offers and you haven't received it yet then blame it on the offers being sent out in alphabetical order. If that doesn't work then abandon that idea a think that your offer is as Alvin states just accidently got placed on the bottom and your email will be typed out shortly.

As a golfer I use this all the time ---- Blame everything else first so that your confidence is not shaken...

Jags I am with ya (neither have offers) so we can Congratulate everyone that has received offers already and go through the further waiting process together. I will be the first to buy you a beer should we have the opportunity to meet at Cambridge.

Have they given out offers to anyone who hasn't yet finished their degree?

Not anyone on this board I think, but a friend of mine who's in my year got an offer so yea I'd reckon whether you have finished your degree or not does not really matter.

Thanks for letting me know, Nerzix Nerv!

I must admit I can't help but feel overwhemingly pessimistic...well done to everyone who has received an offer thus far...I think I may end up having to reapply next year once I've graduated with my first...

No problem, yea we're in the same boat actually. I'm struggling to cope with this wait and my studies at the same time as well! Grrr....XD May I know where you're studying at the moment?

I'm at King's College, London. I'm a British student, expected a first...apparently Oxford and Cambridge tend to like students from King's...but it seems like a lot of the 'competition' already have graduated with their firsts, and of course it's more of a gamble with someone like me who is yet to take those final exams...

Oh well, I will reapply if I need to...

What if you get a Condition of getting a first.. it would make your time even worse..

That is true however I am expecting them to attach such a condition anyway when I made the application. A senior of mine last year was absolutely amazing, got an offer when her second year grades were only a 2:1 but nevertheless went on to achieve a First overall owing to her brilliant performance in her third year. I can't even start to imagine what kind of pressure she has to go through! Hmmm come to think of it I should have applied after nabbing that first...will definitely spare me from this anxiety!

Ahh you're just down the street! Yea I've heard that the Oxford BCL has a very high proportion of King's students as well. In any case I am pretty sure there are a lot of us out there in the same situation so you're not alone, hang in there and keep the hopes up!

Congratulations to all who have received the coveted email from Suzanne Wade. I too received mine yesterday. I have read all the literature attached and online about AHRC funding and I'm slightly confused. It seems that the deadline has passed, yet she is still asking for a statement of purpose to be sent to her. Does anyone have an idea of what format this statement should take? Similar, I imagine to the personal statement required for the application itself, but without as much personal information perhaps? I am interested in writing a thesis and although I am clear of the area I want to pursue I don't have a structure or plan for it yet. Do you think the statement of purpose requires this much detail? Sorry this is quite a specific post. For all still waiting to hear from their chosen LLM programmes, good luck to you all. Also does anyone know when we can expect to hear from the colleges? Thanks.

Where does it say one have to write a personal statement for Cam? As far as I can tell you only need to write a personal statement if applying to the Gates Cambridge Scholarship. And where does it say you have to send a statement of purpose? I can't see it beeing asked for anywhere in the application materials..

PS: I have not applied this year, so if I'm getting this wrong there is no crises for me. But I am def applying next year!

Nervix Nerv - I thought the same, that I should have waited until I graduated and then apply. But one of my best friends rightly pointed out that if I had waited, then I would only have given myself one chance to apply. If I am rejected this time round, then at least I can apply again next year. But imagine graduating, then applying, then being rejected and having to reapply - I would have ended up with 2 spare years to fill before I could do the LLM or BCL...so maybe it's better to apply now before we've graduated, and if the news from Cambridge and Oxford isn't good, then we can always try again next year.

I have a friend who did the BCL last year, and he agreed that your chances are much better if you've already graduated with a first...
