Congrats to all! But on a side note, can you actually include the German? I thought he is doing a research degree instead of a taught programme? If he's excluded it probably means generally the students from the Continent have not been considered yet for the LLM.

I've heard Cambridge will not be accepting any belgians this year!Congrats S-Dimelow and the Turkey man... I have lost the count..
too many :)
So what's the conclusion so far?
I tend to see that they've done a lot of UK citizens together with some other Commonwealth countries.
But then again, there was a German, Turkish and Malaysian applicant accepted too.
What's the pattern? :)
I've heard the same !!! Looks like those Belgians have to stay at home..
too many :)

Well one can safely assume that the standard so far of the current offer holders has been, a degree (be it undergrad or post grad) finished, with a 1.1 and either at the top or very near to the top of the class.
We have also seen (if my memory serves me correct) an exception to this current trend in the form of current undergrads at Cambridge who have been accepted (one person I think)
It also would be apparent that the admissions team do not place too much emphasis on the ranking of the one's undergrad uni, as a few people have graduated from mid-tier/lower ranked unis (but admittedly finished 1st in this class).
With regards geographical allocation of offers, one can also presume that they do intend to have a mix of international students, hence it would (in my view) be logical to deal with applications country by country (or even region by region). It would also make it a hell of a lot easier for them, as we all know, standards vary from each part of the world to the next, so in order to get the best candidates, you can compare like with like and not say, the much harder task of comparing an Irish student (as in my case) with that of a Malaysian etc..
Good summary so far?

Thanks very much for the kind congrats, my fingers remain crossed for those who are still waiting- hopefully the weekend will pass quickly!
I think it is refreshing to note that institutions 'rankings' don't play a part. Many people make a decision to go to undergrad institutions without realising the knock on effect and for a leading institution to say that they recognise that qualifcation as worth something is important to note, especially considering huge numbers of solicitors firms or graduate programmes pretty much discriminate against anyone who isn't something of a stereotypical Oxbridge, UOL etc student. I am led to believe that Oxford are similar in their approach as I'm away of 'bottom tier' grads getting onto the BCL.
No update on CAMSIS yet but I think that is quite normal.

Anyone know how long it will take to get all the offer packs sent in the post?

Congratulations to all who have received the coveted email from Suzanne Wade. I too received mine yesterday. I have read all the literature attached and online about AHRC funding and I'm slightly confused. It seems that the deadline has passed, yet she is still asking for a statement of purpose to be sent to her. Does anyone have an idea of what format this statement should take? Similar, I imagine to the personal statement required for the application itself, but without as much personal information perhaps? I am interested in writing a thesis and although I am clear of the area I want to pursue I don't have a structure or plan for it yet. Do you think the statement of purpose requires this much detail? Sorry this is quite a specific post. For all still waiting to hear from their chosen LLM programmes, good luck to you all. Also does anyone know when we can expect to hear from the colleges? Thanks.

Hey, my friend got an offer from Cambridge on a saturday. I guess they must be handing out offers even during the weekend.

The AHRC funding is only for research degrees, am I right?

Thx, Jag. I think I did not tick the box. If I'm not mistaken, only Home or EU students are eligible to apply.

But as you see, i did not tick it. So i guess they may not be relevant.
And I suspect that there might not be any regional selection. Of the 3 Malaysians, the offers came within the span of 1 week. I don't think there are too many Malaysians who apply, so I don't see any justification for such a time span; they could have sent it all in the same day. So, Jag, i guess yours is just at the bottom of the pile.
