Would it be sound to try again next year if one wasn’t even waitlisted this time? What do you think?

I still think it is rather tactless of them to issue rejections several days after issuing offers. I applied six months ago.
Oh well.

I’d say it depends on whether you’re still an undergraduate and will have graduated by the time you reapply, as they seem to prefer candidates with degrees already in the bag.
I’m thinking of giving it another shot next year for this reason. On the other hand, I know someone who applied and had an absolutely flawless CV/academic record and is still (presumably) getting rejected on Monday. At this level of competition there’s always an element of luck :(

I am just being so impatient. This does not make any sense at all. I am not even sure if all the offers were sent in one go (since different offer-holders recorded different hours of receiving offers). Why would they wait for three more days just to release the rejections? This is agonising.

Maybe this is because the rejections are sent out by the Graduate Admissions centrally? A friend of mine who applied for a totally unrelated programme received one so I kind of know how the rejection email looks like, and it was signed by the Director of Graduate Admissions.

I'm still waiting for a decision on my MPhil application and am sure they will be sending more offers on Monday
