Admissions Cycle for the BCL opens in 2 days folks!
My Background:
LL.B. graduated in Top 2% of lower rank UK University
LL.M. (September 19 on wards) at Russell Group University on full Scholarship
My dream is to study at Oxford, will be applying for the BCL and MLF!

Hi, I will be applying for the MLF as well. I have a First from a non-RG uni and I won a prize for the best dissertation. This year I'm doing an LLM at a RG uni. I wonder what my chances will be haha

Hello guys! To those applying to Mjur and MLF... Do you think we should send two different written works? And do you think it should be directly linked to the program we're applying? As I do not have anything published relating to MLF for example.
I do not know if the same people will be reading both applications.

No one cares about the personal statement - it gives a flavour to your app. The crucial document you must work on is the 2k essay.

I am applying to two programmes, the MJur and the MPhil.
Do you guys think I have any chance to get into any of these courses? I am from a Peruvian university and here is some about me.
- Top 5% of my class (ranked 1st out of 115).
- Participation in six moots (reaching semi-finals in two, finals in one, and winning one on investment law)
- Two publications (one book review, and one co-authored publication in a Scopus journal)
- One forthcoming publication in English (hopefully in January 2020 in Transational Dispute Management)
- An specialized course on international arbitration in America (ranked 2nd)
- Experience as assistant teacher in jurisprudence and constitutional law.
- Editorial Board Member of a quite recently formed journal in Australia.
- IELTS Band 8.5

I have a doubt regarding the written work. I am thinking about submitting an extract from a longer essay. In the Admission Web Page they say that the work should be prefaced with a note giving some context. But I don't know whether this preface should be written in a footnote or it could be something like in the first page of the document.
Do you guys have any idea on how to preface these written works?

I did as an explanation at the beginning of the text, on the first page of the document. I don't think we should worry too much about the position of the preface. :D

I am apply to other universities in addition to Oxford, and their admission teams said that personal statement is very important. I have been wondering how to write a creative personal statement as I don't really have a special story to tell. I guess Oxford's approach is more practical.

Hi Mombastic, I am set to apply for Oxford's BCL course and have a query in respect of the 2k written essay. I clarified on the minimum word requirement with Oxford and they said that there isn't any. However, what according to you would be the minimum word strength that they might be looking for? For instance, would a 1100 word essay serve the purpose as long as it is perfectly analytical?
