abeg guy.....what other supporting documents is required for the visa application...this is cos from what i read, i noticed that uk border requires the same documents the school used in assessing students performance in the issuance of the offers, also is required by them.
if this is so, does it mean they require, references, certificates, transcript n the likes.also read that they require original transcripts,..
thanks

"original certificates and/or transcript " is what the uk border agency requires. if u dont hav these then it means u were probably assessed by som references then submit either original copies of these references or certified copies. these copies should be certified by the institutions admission officer who asssessed you based on these references.

i totally understand. its just that i am wondering whether or not its safe sending down original certificates, why cant they accept a certified true copy. also am thinking of the horror i went thru getting the transcript in the first place.

yr certificates and all other accompanying documents are absolutely safe with the agency. do not make the mistake of submitting any sort of photocopy certified or not.
i know getting a transcript can be quite tedious and most often , they are not handed over to the student , rather the school sends it to the institution requiring it. what i am yet to establish is what the agency means by "certificates and/ or transcript" I have checkd the dictionary meaning of "and/or" and it says A and/or B means three outcomes-------------- A only,B only, A and B.
IS THIS WAT THE AGENCY MEANS?
we need further clarifications because most institutions dont readily give transcripts to students.

Naija your visa letter should state the documents you were assesed with, mine only states the certificates I submitted not the transcript, I guess people who have not obtained their certicates would need to produce their transcript.

Okay...it looks like the transcript is required but my only question is this, first, how do i get the reference letters i submitted, which were used for my assessment. They were sealed n posted directly to the school. how can i present this at the embassy?

I also included my transcript in my application but this was not listed. I am yet to apply, cant apply till 3 months to the start date of my programme. Do you know anyone who has applied yet.

yeah... guess most of us would be in the same boat. guess the way out is either we ask the schools to mail down a copy to enable visa process or meet the referees again for another. what do u all think?
i personally, am not looking forward to this.

It might be better to leave it out n d visa letter. cos the process of retreiving it might be long. one of my referees has relocated out of the country with his family.
I'm of the view that we find out precisely from someone at ukba. how to get to them is the next thing. its always easier at exhibitions.
Its best to deal with these little details before applying.

i have actually seen the new tier 4 form. it does not need u sending copies of a reference if u have a university certificate and/or transcript wen applying.

Not sure if this helps but Nottingham have produced a simple guide at http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/international/_media/pdf/applying_for_your_student_visa_overseas%20_tier4.pdf
I'm sure the information contained in this will be relevant to other institutions as well.
