Cambridge LL.M. 2014 - 2015 Applicants

Pardon me for asking subjective questions but any straw would help at this moment, so here is the question - the website says 'If your application is unsuccessful, you may receive notification of the outcome earlier'.

Has that really happened before? Or have the rejections been notified later in the process? So technically, do we need to be worried about no change in CAMSIS status as the time progresses or is it a good sign?

both, generally if there is no answer yet it is considered as a good sign, although when I applied last year, many rejections came before 15th of March, but mine came on 28th

I think they refer to the regular process of department>>> degree committee >>> board of graduate studies. Since in law its just degree committee and then BOGS, I'm not sure it applies here. Usually when the department rejects someone, the decision is communicated pretty fast and won't reach the degree committee.

Wasn't that an MCL candidate, though?

Sorry to be a downer but the rejection in the app tracker was regarding the mcl not the llm. So far i know of no one who's been rejected. It is my impression from reading last year's forum, that rejections come after the offers :( If I am talking crap and somebody can prove me wrong, I would be grateful of course (seeing as my status hasn't changed).

Yes you are right. It is actually an MCL candidate.
Let's keep hoping that we dont get rejected or waitlisted.

I believe that after today's committee meeting most of the decisions will be communicated (though I believe they will only finish sending them tomorrow). Just a feeling.

Why do we link our results to the committee meeting anyway? Do you guys think that last month, they dealt with applications of Australians and Germans only, and today they are gonna deal with the rest? Could be, of course, but I don't see why...

Offer received here. (Well, status change on CamSIS to awaiting approval by board of graduate studies).

Good luck to you all!

Congratulations! Could you please tell us more about your academic achievements? It would be easier to prepare myself for a rejection if i know i would fall under the - as Mark puts it - 'shitty' category of candidates as compared to others!

Of course, but I think that knowing my background won't be illuminating.

I'm an internal applicant - I graduated with the Cambridge Law BA last year and I am still a Cambridge student and a junior member of my college.

The official offer came through the next day after the status change on CamSIS.

Wow congrats!

So it's Australia and Germany so far?

And internal applicants (I know of a fair few).

Does look like they are going by region this year. It's a temptation to read into the trends too much, but this many German offers cannot be a coincidence!

Yes, I am from Africa. Looks like they are handling other regions as well.
