Geneva Academy Applications 2020-2021

If I were you, I would definitely choose the GA because of the reputation.

Please tell us when did you apply, which track and when did you receive an offer (what time lol)? I am almost in despair.

Guys, I've received acceptances from the Geneva Academy (LLM programme on IHL) and the Graduate Institute (LLM in International Law, specialising on Protection of the individual).

I don't know which to choose. What would you suggest and why?

Could you tell us when you received your offer, when did you apply and which track. Regarding your question, for International Humanitarian Law is more prestigious. I don't think you will find a very objective answer here when we are all anxious trying to get to the Academy jeje. But if I were you I would think about what career path I want and what is my specific interest. One is a Master in International Law with an specialization, the other one is a Master in International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights. Think about it and good luck.

Oh and of course, congrats for being admitted to two amazing schools.

I had applied before the January 31 deadline. I'd been torn between the tracks, but GA being one of the places that I *really* wanted to go to, I didn't want to risk not applying under the non-scholarship track.
I received my acceptance on March 11 at 3.37 PM (IST).

Thansk for your quick reply and congratualtions!!

Guys, seems that GA started to send offers of non-scholarship track, finally!! we should wait, I guess at most during 2 weeks, the whole thing can finsihed. most of us can receive a result whatever good or bad, more patient we need.

wish you good luck!

Hello everyone... I follow the IHEID on Instagram and today there was a conference about classes and office hours being suspended until March 22nd because of the Covid19... I’m not sure it applies to the Academy but I think it does. Guess we’ll have to keep waiting even longer.

Thank you all guys. I hope there will be good news for you too!

Based on info from older threads, it looks like GA is sending offers on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays up until the last week of March.

I write this with the heaviest of hearts. Today I received a mail from the Academy about pre-selection for a partial scholarship; however, I applied for a full one. I'm really sad about it because I have no financial alternatives to pay for living expenses. I guess I'll look for some options. I didn't know the Academy could change the track.

Congratulations, @HerExcellency! :) Your statement vouches for what the Academy said - applying late does not lessen the chances of admissions. I too had applied four minutes before the January 31 deadline, on Full Scholarship Track - and are awaiting a decision from the Academy.

Good luck to all of us :)

I'm sorry to hear about this, Issa. :( I hope you'll be able to secure the remaining funding through alternative means... good luck to you!

The Swiss embassy in our country offers some funding and scholarship for students. Maybe they also offer this in Mexico? What about your employer - in case you are employed - maybe they offer some funding?

I guess everybody is expecting an offer but they replied to me that I can hear from them until may so... trying to relax, specially with all the measures they will have to take because of coronavirus the process might slow down.

In other note:
Does anybody know how many people have been granted scholarship (either partial or full) in MTJ?
