Hi guys, I got approved on SOLAR system, so I think I have to wait for IPA letter sent by NUS to come now?
Dear Ngannp,
In my Solar application status, I can see that my application has been approved and I believe IPA letter would be now sent by NUS. There is a requirement to pay the issuance fee (SGD 90). When is this required to be paid? The FAQs on the website states "The issuance fee is payable when the successful applicant completes the formality to collect the Students Pass".
I believe this completion of formality ICA is referring to os the section 5 'COF' of the offer letter? And, we need to wait for the IPA letter, and then probably pay the issuance fee?
Regards,

Hi Daishonin, I dont think it is required any particular time to pay this issuance fee of Student Pass, though I assume that we could pay it upon COF..Anyway as we have to pay it sooner or later and through online payment so I already paid 90SGD for issuance fee; a receipt has been issued upon the payment so I dont think we can be of any problem in early payment. Since then I think I just have to wait for IPA from NUS and set an appointment with ICA to complete the procedure.

Dear all!
I have one studies unrelated question:
Can anyone comment on the requirements when bringing pharmaceuticals for personal use into Singapore? As I understand pharmaceuticals should be approved by health authority of Singapore? Do I understand it correctly? I was planning to bring some pharmaceuticals from headache, etc. (nothing special).
Thanks in advance,
A.

Ana, I think only special medicines need clearance. I also got few medicines from India, the usual headache/fever/hay fever kind. Singapore is very very strict when it comes to drugs (poppy seeds are banned since they might contain marijuana), cigarettes/ chewing gums, but over the counter medicines should create no problem. Singapore has a very moist weather and those of you who suffer from hay fever/ allergic rhinitis may notice an increase of the same, so you better come protected. Also, over the counter drugs like painkillers/anti-histamines are readily available in this place.

Hi everybody,
I would like to know if any of you get IPA letter from NUS, particularly those whose going to join CFS? Also when exactly we should expect to get another email from them regarding the study subjects and all further information of the course? I assume it should be sometime around mid June?

Hey! I've got admission into the CFS programme.Guess I'm joining in a little late on the discussions :) About accomodation...is anyone considering places outside Evan's Lodge? I read online reviews about the place and all of them are uniformly negative. So if anyone is considering an alternative...do share! Thanks.

Hi guys,
I got some update regarding the IPA:
NUS will start sending the approved IPA letter from early to mid June and only to those who do not need to submit any outstanding documents.
For those who are graduating in end June/early July, they will wait for the final transcripts/certified copy of LLB degree certificate to be submitted before releasing the IPA letter.
Further information related to fee payment etc. will be sent at the same time as the IPA letter.
So let wait till mid June for more information :)

Ngannp,
If there is any document remaining, will NUS be informing us individually by email?
