I have checked the ICA's website, and the name needs to be in order as it exists in the travel document (passport).
In my knowledge, the passport issued in India has Surname followed by first name.

The "second mail" sent by NUS says that, for NUS students the medical test can be done both in their home country or Singapore, but before enterning NUS, which explains that you may get the medical test upon your arrival at Singapore.

To write further in this regard: NUS documents mentioned that if you opt to do the medical check in Singapore, UHC specially, then you can make an appointment with UHC to carry out the procedure. Notes that we have 2 forms of medical examination, once is for NUS and another is for ICA as such it is advised to do the medical check right upon your arrival in Singapre so that you can complete all fomalities including student registration with NUS and then obtain Student Pass from ICA.

Thanks Ngannp!

The offer letter mentions a medical form (iii) which must be completed at the Singapore General Hospital (SGH) for all non-Singapore Citizens and non-China Citizens. The pre-enrollment and med exam notes, however, only mentions the UHC. Do you happen to know how that works? Do I (as a non-Singapore and non-China Citizen) have to do medical checks at SGH and UHC if I want to do them in Singapore?

It is mentioned nowhere in my documents about SGH, instead it says those who opt to do medical check in Singapre can do so at UHC. Therefore, to avoid any kinda complication and confusion, I suppose you should carry out ur medical examination at UHC. It also says you just have to undergo one check-up to complete 2 forms including one for NUS and another for ICA.

Hello

Apologies for bringing in a new discussion, however as most of us have made our applications with ICA and sent our forms to NUS, it wud be appropriate to discuss on the accommodation part. The most probable options being evans & SIC, I have also heard that renting out private flats can be convenient. I request anyone interested to share a flat to contact me for the steps to be taken. Please send me a PM. I have also heard that Bukit Timah is expensive in terms of rents, but sharing may considerably lessen the burden. I am from India and I request people interested to contact ASAP. I have few frnds in the NUS med school, who can also be of some help.

I wud be joining CFS, so kindly match the time schedule.

Cheers

The medical examinations (for International students) if done in our country, can wait fro some time, isn't it? as far as i understood, we need them only after we reach Singapore... Is there any requirement of medicals having been done at the time of SOLAR application? Sorry for such silly queries!

No, I guess there isnt any such requirement. We would only need it when we will proceed to collect our student passes in Singapore.

Dear all,

I have received the "second email" today. Do you know how critical it is for the SOLAR system to have my surname identical to the one identified in passport (i.e. all letters are correct, I just have softening sign on one of the letters in my surname)?

Thanks in advance,
A.

Ana, on basis of your SOLAR application, IPA letter shall be issued which is equivalent to a visa. And hence, I am sure discrepancy in SOLAR details and passport details is avoidable. I suggest you write to NUS in this regard, you still have more than week in hand to reply.

Daishonin,

Thanks, I`ll do that. I`m just not quite sure that SOLAR system accepts softening signs.

Take care,
A.

Hi MS,

(1) You need to mail following docs to lawGRADadm@nus.edu.sg
(a) scanned copy of completed "Reply form on offer of Admission"
(b) Softcopy of photograph of given specifications in JPG format
(c) scanned copy of completed "Declaration on subsidy form"

(2) You also need to log on to ica.gov.sg, and complete SOLAR requirements. Pls refer section 4 of your offer letter to understand the process.

These two things require an expedited revert, and rest everything can wait, including health checks (these need not be sent, infact it may be done in Singapore as well, it shall be required once you reach Singapore).

Trust my "reply was fast" and your concerns have been addressed.

regards,

Dear All,

The reviews about evans had not been very encouraging. I request alumni to suggest the most appropriate one amongst evans & SIC.
