I'm Tang from Thailand, admitted to IBL. My plan is to arrive in SG around 1-4 July (not sure yet). I'm going to stay at SIC [4 minutes by bus/ 10-15 minutes by feet :P ] I've already book the room. Let's meet up before the class starts.

I'm Kee, from Thailand as well, joining to IP& Tech Law.
I've already received the mail concerning all docs.
The school commences on 2nd Aug for normal programme and for person attending the intensive english course, the class starts on 12th Jul. BTW, there is a placement test on 9th Jul.

I will b exempted frm the intensive E course so going to join a lil bit later.

No email received yet. I guess it is the IBL people to whom they are rolling out the letters first, coz their course starts earlier than ours.

Personally, i think the room is kinda small and expensive but it's not a big deal as i will stay in SG only 3 months.

For IBL students,

I just received the 2nd email from NUS containing the official offer letter. The academic year commences on Monday, 12 July 2010 for students from non-common law jurisdictions. We are advised to arrive in Singapore by Tuesday, 6 July 2010. Registration for candidature will be held on Wednesday, 7 July 2010.

They also attached my SOLAR application form, acceptance form, Pre-Med Form, Medical Report, and China Physical Examination form (this one is for the Shanghai segment).

All other information is included in the letter which you will receive soon. see you in a bit classmates :-)

Hi CFS mates, I got the second email finally. The academic year commences on 2 August 2010 (it doesnt mention about the common law course prior to the commencement of the academic year anywhere so I assume I dont have to take it prior to the official course). Attached documents are all most as same as those required for IBL students, so I am just gonna proceed it further. It is also required to send back the official acceptance form to NUS and complete the SOLAR procedure within 2 weeks from the date of receipt of this email.

I suppose you guys will get this 2nd email soon as they r sending out emails for CFS students now.

Hi, I also got the letter for CFS.
Just a small doubt...
The acceptance form mentions:
"This reply on Offer of Admission must reach the address above by the deadline given in the Offer Letter; failing
which, it will be assumed that the offer of admission is declined."
While the offer letter at a no. of places mentions that teh filled up form is to be scanned and sent by email along with a photograph... Any clarification on this?
Further, I was wondering if we could discuss the entire procedure (especially the things we need to do on prioirity) so that all of us make sure that we cover everything...

Have you booked your accomodation? All the IBL guys seems to ahev done, so I am getting a lttile worried. It is quite difficult to figure out from India about accomodation, where to stay, when to book etc.

For me it just mentioned that I have to send scanned copy of acceptance form plus a foto via email to NUS, no other requirements.

I already noted down what all I have to complete, here is my prior list as of now:
1. Complete acceptance form and send to NUS
2. Complete SOLAR procedure
3. Complete medical check
4. Waiting for further info frm NUS to prep for bank draft of tuition fee.

Side by side, I am looking for accomodation, some of my friends who are living there wanted me to join them so arranging for accomodation seems not to be a tough task now. Faithhope, it is advised that you should do it ASAP now so as you will get a good place and reasonable price. Best of luck.

I had one more doubt...
My email says complete the procedure for SOLAR within two weeks, while the ICA website says it cannot be applied for more than 2 months before the course coomences... Our course commences on August 2, so two months before means June 2, 2010. The link is:

Faithhope: Havent checked the link yet, however, I just followed NUS's instruction mentioned in the SOLAR letter and so I registered successfully, including payment, as such my application on SOLAR now is processing. I suppose that you just need to follow the instruction. I will check the link and write you further if I do have any other understanding different from yours in this regard.

Hi guys, I got approved on SOLAR system, so I think I have to wait for IPA letter sent by NUS to come now?

In the details sent by NUS for fulfilling SOLAR requirements, what is the order in which the 'student name' is given?

Is it the surname followed by the first name or viceversa?

I received the second e-mail last week and am now preparing the required docs. As to the "student name": I understand it as first name followed by the surname.

Does anyone know whether all the medical tests can also be done in Singapore at the University Health Center? That is, can I do the medical tests after I arrive in Singapore at the beginning of July before the programme starts? Many thanks and - see you all soon!

My name in attachment sent by NUS for the SOLAR formalities is Surname and First name. Does it matter much?
