I have enrolled for MBL this year and received the study Material.
Being an engineer i don't know from where to proceed????
Just gone through the last years papers ; almost all papers have the question related to some legal cases . How to prepare for those cases?
on which part of the course ( all subjects ) need to concentrate?

Is it necessary to remember all those acts that study material mentions say Company Act for example??

where will I find BARE ACTS as arora sir has mentioned in previous posts ?

is there any open forum where we can find some study material and query and solutions ?
I am really eager to complete this course but needed guidance because it is not like part time MBA or other course .

I was going through the various posts & have got some ideas, facts of this MBL program.
I am a B.Sc(Eco,Maths & Stats) & presently working in a Company for their Projects Marketing Business in Network Connectivity Domain.
I am interested to join & pusue this course.
Pls guide me about the future prospects of MBL. What are jobs that would be there for MBL passed outs?
It would be great to have yours & especially all involved in this thread to share their valuable views.

im thinking about taking up mbl frm nlsiu banglore in the 2011-2012 session. And i wanted to figure out whether i would find the course interesting. For that i want read a few of the books prescribed for this course in a few subjects to know what i would have to deal with. If anyone can give me the names for basic textbooks in the subjects covered in mbl that would be very helpful. Thanks

Hi Pallavi, regarding your query, as you might be aware that in the 1st year MBL the subjects such as contract law, environment law, corporate law, banking law and ind. relations law are covered. Whilst NLS provides study material which is really good, but you may have to obtain the bare acts on these before you register for the course so as to acquaint yourself with the course contents. you may contact your local book sellers to get the basic editions on this subject and get started. wish you all the best.

Thanks alot for ur reply.Actually what i am looking for is the name of basic text books in the subjects which are covered in mbl i.e. contracts,corporate, banking,ir,etc so that i can get an idea about how much effort would be required to get through this course and whether i find the subjects interesting. this would help me make a decision as to whether i want to take up this course or not. So i want help from this point of view- to decide.

well, there is a list of suggested books in the study material and also there are some good authors on the subject. allow me a days' time as these material are kept at home. will revert to you tomorrow.

I am running my business in USA and I'd like to complete the MBL prior my MBA. I truely appreciate the efforts to answer my below questions
1. How difficult is the course and content?
2. What medias MLS use to coach the students? ie ARe there video conferences or past materials available to the distance students?
3. Are there regular classes or class for the whole session like 3 or 6 months together?
4. Are there any training or tution classes offered for distant student like me?
5. Are there any special studying pattern for excelling the MBL programme?
6. Are there any knowledge in legal areas required for this course?
7. Are there any special restrictions to foriegn students or do I need to have a local address to communicate?

Had a query regarding the course as m from a non law bckgnd. If someone could help..

Are the learnings from the programme only useful in the indian context or they apply to business all over.
Since, its a business course it should have global use but if someone more knowledgeable could give more clarity on the coverage & application of the course from a broader perspective it would be of great help.
