Master of Business Laws from NLSIU Bangalore, India

Thank you very much Siddharth. Well, now i am pretty sure about scope of employment. Now, can you advice me with another topic. Actually i am basically from the Arts background and has a mediocre percentage(55%) in aggregate till my 4th year BA.LLB. So, do you think that i will able to excel in Business/Corporate Law in LLM? I mean to ask if there are any mathematical equations in the content of Business Law(of which i am worried about).

I'll wait eagerly for your valuable advice.

Yours sincerely,
shining_star.

Siddharth, i guess you will be appearing in your final trimister exams this year, isn't it? Will the MBL program in NLSIU be very tough specially for a student like me (as i have described you before)? Being a current student, can you lend me an experienced advice?

Thanks for your advice. Well, should i check the previous year papers before cracking CLAT? Or it can be tackled after occupying the seat?
Finally, being a junior would you like to suggest me anything so as carry out my preparation for CLAT'2012 in a methodical way?

Any suggestions further will be immensely helpful.

Warm regards,
Partha.

@shining_star:
CLAT and other entrance exams is for Llb. As far as I know, there is not entrance criteria for MBL, and it is a postgraduate course. Please check the NLS website for further details.

Is MBL & LLM in Business Law not the same? As i know(checking the NLSIU website), there are LLM programs in two areas of specialisation only in NLSIU, viz. a/ Business Law & b/ Human Rights. But i din't find any mention of MBL course specifically. Therefore, i thought both(LLM in Business Law & MBL) programs to be the same. I am sorry if anything went unnoticed by me. If both are different, can someone tell me the difference between them? Well, for a fresh law graduate(without any practical experiences such as internships) which will suit the best?

Hope someone will clarify me n of course suggest me too.

Regards,
shining_star.

Sorry Siddharth. Actually after you clarified that LLM & MBL are not same, just now i checked the NLSIU website. Well, in the Distance programme section, i found the MBL course. Now i am clear about their difference.
But for a to-be law graduate(like me), which is better, LLM in Business law or MBL?

Never mind for my consistent queries. I'll wait for your reply.

I am Aditi, pursuing cs, and planning on taking up MBL in the coming academic year. I wanted to know if there is a prescribed entrance exam to the MBL course or can anyone who meets the basic eligibility criteria can apply?
Thanks.

Hey,
I've enrolled for MBL- 2010 to 2012. Giving the Year one exams in June 2011.
Any word on when they usually happen?
And anyone else from Chennai, taking up the papers in June/has already given the papers?
Pradeep.

The Pass percentage in MBL is about 2.6% the DED Dept had informed that till 2010 Convocation (The MBL Course started in 1996) out of about 15000 students enrolled till 2009 only about 400-450 students have succesfully comepleted.

Hence just seeing the NLS tag to jump in is not going to help much as getting out succesfully demands dedication and hard work.

All the very best to everyone.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained eh?
But Yeah, I see what you mean- the course is rather tough. I've just started on Contract- done it before- so shouldn't be too hard. Ditto on Company law. The others though- pretty intense material. Especially Banking looks rather dry.
Anyways- I intend to clear.
Fingers crossed.

First of all Thanks for you support!!!

In your earlier post you wrote "Since the material is very old, you can go through various PPTs of last few years (watch this space for link for PPT NLS put up on their website since 2007); they will help you in updating"

I have tried locating these PPTs but was unsuccessful
Can you pleae provide us with the link for the same?

Thanks & Regards
