The Program
Non-Chinese citizens, who have received a first college degree and have a good command of English, are eligible to apply for this program. LL.M. degree will be granted to the candidates who have successfully completed the required courses and a thesis.
Each LL.M. student must complete 30 credits during two-semester course study in the first year. Generally, the fall semester lasts from late August through December, and the spring semester from late February through June. After completing the course study, students could submit graduation thses and pass the oral defense in the end of the second academic year (usually May or June). It is also possible, upon special application and approval, to submit the thsis in the third or the fourth academic year. However, the maxium length to get the LL.M degree is 4 years after the first enrolment in the beginning of the first academic year. Students may complete the thesis at Fudan or at any other place as long as they will be present for the oral defense. Students who have successfully completed one or two semesters? course work but decide not to write the thesis will instead receive a certificate.
Each LL.M. student will be assigned an academic advisor for study and thesis writing. In addition, Fudan Law School will arrange regular academic and extra-curricular activities for both foreign students and Chinese students so that they may interact with each other.

The University
Located in the commercial and financial center of China - Shanghai, Fudan University is a preeminent and prestigious university in China. The Law School
FLS has four degree programs instructed in Chinese: Ph.D. in law, Master of Laws (LL.M.), Juris Master (J.M.), and Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.). The School also has a post-doctoral program. The teaching and research teams have been renowned domestically and internationally in a wide range of subjects. The Faculty
Entry Requirements
Applicants whose native language is not English must prove their English proficiency, e.g., possessing a TOEFL (iBT) score of 90 or above / an IELTS score of 6.5 or above.
Applicants who have successfully completed a bachelor's degree or master's degree taught in English in a majority native English speaking country, will not normally need to provide TOEFL or IELTS score.
Application Procedure
Firstly, log on website (http://admission.iso.fudan.edu.cn/) to register and complete application form online. Then, pay application fee (800 RMB) online after preliminary review. Afterwards any application information cannot be modified. Application without paying application fee will not be processed.
Application Documents: (Place documents of each category in right order as follow)
a) Printed and signed online Application Form with barcode, with a photo attached.
b) Personal Statement of around 1000 words. It may include, e.g., study and work experience, academic achievements, research proposal, and individual development plan after graduation.
c) Recommendation letters from two professors (not necessarily full/tenured professors), in English or Chinese (signature and contact information are necessary; sealed in an envelop). There is no official form for reference, but please make sure that your name and the program of LL.M in Chinese Business Law are included in the recommendation letter.
d) A copy of degree diploma (official or notarized version, translated into English or Chinese)
e) Related transcripts (original or notarized version, translated into English or Chinese)
f) A list and abstract(s) of published papers, and other documents that can prove your academic excellence.
g) A copy of valid passport.
h) TOEFL or IELTS report (if the native language of the applicant is not English).
All documents must be in English or Chinese. Otherwise, the applicant shall provide a official or notarized translation in either English or Chinese.
Deadline for Application
Application deadline for degree students is May 15th; application for non-degree students is from March 1st to June 1st (fall semester) and from October 8th to December 1st (spring semester).

Tuition and Fees
Students need to pay half the tuition (80,000 yuan) before the beginning of the first fall semester, and the other half before the beginning of the first spring semester. The application processing fee is RMB 800 yuan and is non-refundable.
Other Costs
Students will cover their own housing, meal, health insurance, and transportation costs and will be responsible for the cost of textbooks for the program. More information please see the website of the International Students Office of Fudan University.

Fudan Law School may recommend some qualified LL.M students (in Chinese Business Law) to intern in law firms, (e.g. Baker & McKenzie), arbitration commissions (e.g. The China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission) or other institutions in Shanghai.
