Hehe, still hesitating between NYU and Duke...
Could anyone said that "Location could benefit the job seeking" tell me how much opportunity NYC would bring? As I know, the LL.M.s usually look for job after taking the Bar exam which shall be after graduation. Then, will there be any difference between NYU and Duke LL.M.?
Appreciate any response...

All of you guys have decided.. I am still confused. Based on the fact that furture career opprotunities are better in the US, I have dropped Oxford and Cambridge and decided to look schools in the US..
Columbia (have to take a loan, no scholarship)
NYU/Stern (have to take a loan, no scholarship for the law school)
Cornell (waiting for the fellowship results)
Northwestern LLM Kellog (my deadline expires tommorrow i have decided to drop this)
Do let me know your thoughts

Hello,
If you've dropped Oxford and Cambridge, I would go to Columbia without any hesitation. Why are you hesitating ?

thanks Bitsou , i am thinking in the same direction but what about the fellowship from Cornell?
Posted Apr 19, 2005 15:56
Admitted Georgetown, LSE. Waitlisted at NYU. Still no word from Cambridge or Columbia. Accepted LSE.

MSK, I wouldn't drop Cam and Ox to go to Cornell, even on a fellowship.
In fact, I dropped Cornell before they made any decisions as to the fellowship.

I am not giving up Oxford and Cambridge for Cornell but for Columbia or NYU....
I work with a typical US set up kind of law firm in India and I think a US LLM will add more value to my experience...
Also Cambridge Commonweatlh will announce its scholarships only in June and that is too late for me as I need to confirm or decline the US schools in the next few days.

Bitsou: thank you very much for the effort, I think this is really great.. I am happy to see that nearly all attendants of this forum got great offers and admissions, congratulations to everyone..
Thanks to Bitsou's groupping, I can now take this initiative one step further: so srk, sage, Dr Jekyll, TJ and Bruselas (and anyone else admitted to Columbia), please feel free to contact me on anything regarding next year in Columbia.. there is surely many common unknowns for us and I think we can substantially benefit from each other's findings (on topics such as housing, classes etc..) another option is to create a "Columbia Admitted Students" topic and discuss such issues there.. cheers
