Which university would you choose?

I am deciding between NYU, Chicago and Virginia...

I know NYU is the best as far as ranking is considered, it's even No. 1 in my area of study (international law), but they accept so many people each year... Plus, it's fairly expensive without a scholarship.

Virginia already granted me a scholarship, and I know I'd feel at home there... Still waiting for the scholarship decision from Chicago...

Any inputs?

if money is not yo prob(lucky devil!) i'd say go with NYU definately. For your area of study, NYU's location, faculty and networks are just delicious...and i personally would not be put off by a huge class though of course, tastes differ

If you mainly want to study international law, I think you should make every effort to attend NYU. The size of program is an issue, but in that field NYU is, in my estimate, a head taller than either Chicago or Virginia. And the location could not be better.

Agree with the above!
Do not compromise! Besides, large class might be a +! In terms of networking... Find the money!!

Although it gives me real pains - NYU it is. Eric Posner did some international law, but his views are a bit "interesting" and I would not be astonished if Dick Posner wrote something about the law and economics of international law. However, if you want to have a broad scope of classes with full-time faculty, NYU will probably give you the best opportunities in the US.

Best wishes,

Yps.

Based your post, it sounds like you want to go to Virginia, but are having a hard time justifying that choice when you have been accepted by a "slightly" higher ranked school. However, like others have said numerous times on this board, you have to follow your heart. If your heart is telling you to go to Virginia, go there or you will regret it later.

I believe that, deep down, you know where you want to go. Trust your instincts!!

Undoubtedly, NYU is tops. In fact, I'm probably going there myself. However, the bottom line is that you have to do what's best for you, taking all circumstances into account, including where you would feel most comfortable.

As a matter of prestige in your field (international law), NYU would be the best option, but I also aknowledge it is hard to turn down an offer that would allow you to spend your year in the US free of charges... Would you mind telling us your future plans? It might help us to give you some advice.
