What about financial aid or the Dean' s scholarship - any news abou it?
And finally, what about the deposit that they usually ask for in order to keep your seat? How much will be? Thanks

@ dabk. when did you apply?

I received the application complete mail on january 16th, so I guess the rolling decision process is depending on different things...

Hey, does anybody know if anyone got rejected? I am on a waiting list and trying to understand if that is their way of saying no? Or do I keep hoping?

Do they actually reject people or do they put everybody who is not accepted on a waiting list?

As far as I know, you will get an email eiother stating you're in or out...or on the waitlist...this means that you will slip in, when someone who's in decides to not accept the offer...but if you're rejected you're out. But they will tell you by mail

Thx a lot:-)

As far as I understand, there are some applicants which are not sure if they accept the offer (as me). This means that some will reject UCLAs offer and therefore you on the waiting list could slip in. But I think they have a ranking for ppl on this waiting list. And only they know who slips in first. But yes, you still have chances to make it.

Got it with a substantial Tuition Fellowship Award. I also got accepted to Columbia without scholarship. Still waiting for NYU, Stanford and HLS. Which option should I choose?

What do you mean by substantial? If money matters, a substantial award might be worth to go to UCLA which is a very good school, but of course not comparable with CLS or HLS. Although the LA Experience is very different from the east coast experience, I think that I would chose CLS or HLS over UCLA, but not absolutely sure about that. The CLS reputation is much better, but in many countries it is more important that you have earned your LLM degree in the US than where in the US as long as it is in a top school, which def. UCLA is as well. So, I'd say that I would go with the substantial award as long as you are not def. sure if you can afford NYC, which is by far the most expensive city in the US!

I would always be happy to pay 40k$ to go to HLS/SLS/CLS.

If you were granted a full scolarship from UCLA, maybe you can consider the option... Otherwise, I don't believe it's worth it.

That is where I don't agree...It's depending on what your plans are and where you're from. I know faboulous and very successful lawyers that have been to UCLA and higly recommend it...I even know one of the top lawyers in my law firm who was rejected at UCLA and then went to CLS instead...

The rankings might help but should never be the only true!!

Wow. All you folks are in or waitlisted? Still no word from UCLA for me, but now I'm going crazy knowing that there are invitations from the school flowing around. I need to stop looking at this board, it's bad for my health.

Don't worry about it. I do not know how the hell it works. I got accepted to CLS and got a scholarship at UCLA and still haven't heard from NYU or Fordham (which is definitely not as good as CLS or UCLA). Who knows how these things work....

Does anybody know what are the prospects of finding a job in the US after completing an LLM at UCLA? I couldn't find LLM graduates in leading lawfirms.
