decisions should arrive soon though, since the application deadline was monday... i already got answers from two other schools i applied to and have to decide by feb 17th wether i will take the spot, so i really hope we will hear from ucla by then!

I have the same problem...offers of other schools which need to be replied by the end of february...I still wait for CLS, UCLA and NYU...and I do not think that they will answer fast enough:-(

Sorry to intrude, but just so that I can understand: you are writing in German, is that correct? I have noticed that if this is German, some of the words are being written in unusual ways, such as "ich ha", "biitrag", "miini", "Han dr e pm gschickt".
I get you sent a personal message and all, for example, but most of what you are writing seems different from what I learned (or tried to learn). I would like to ask if this is some short way to write German online or something else (maybe it's not German; maybe my knowledge of German has dwindled greatly over the years and I can't recognize it... :-)
Could you shed some light on this? I'm curious! =)

yes, it's swiss german. i would not write in standard german language to other swiss german people. it would feel a little bit awkward or strange... ;)

I wouldn't say it was difficult, but I was certainly not sure. Most of it looked like regular German with letters missing or changed, so it gave me a clue. But I was preparing myself to hear "no! why did you think this is German? it's clearly ..."
At least it's not that I can't recognize German at all anymore. I'm relieved ;-)
I'm from Brazil! Striving for some years now to improve my German... (along with French, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese and English; maybe it's no wonder I'm still striving ;-)
