I think that this year they probably just denied everyone. That would explain everything; it'd make sense too considering the California Budget fiasco. ;)

same message... so what happens next? has anyone received any news from UCLA ? at all? I'm beginning to think that either no one has been accepted, or that we will not have any news from UCLA at all. By the way, when I last checked my status yesterday, my TOEFL score report was still on the way, which doesn't make much sense, considering that two days later I ordered another score for USC and they received it like 5 days ago.

I got the same message.
And I wrote immediately a mail to ask ucla what happened.
It makes me so nervous especially after the first reply from NW give me a waitinglist.
But it seems many people got the same message.
I can calm down a little.
I don't know what happen to uc schools.
Another uc send complicate message in Jan. middle about the receiving material in Nov. end.
I can't stop complain their such doing.
It drives applicants crazy.

Yep, same message...very strange...but I think that this does not matter...
I am just worried that they need some more time to decide...don't like to extent a further deadline...

Where else have you all applied? And where does UCLA come in your list of preferences?
Hi, I applied to CLS, NYU, UCLA, BU and Fordham. Got accepted at BU with a nice scholarship and at Fordham...
I always thought that CLS is my preference, but the longer I think of it, I'd really like to study in Westwood...so, no clue:-(((

Still no word. Poor taste.

I'm curious how many of y'all are in a position where you will have to choose another school over UCLA simply because you have not yet heard back from UCLA and a deadline for your alternate school is quickly approaching?
I feel fortunate because for me, it's UCLA or nothing. But this is a luxury I understand many do not possess.

I feel so lucky, because I just received my first response today and it's an acceptance! However, UCLA is still my dream school and if they don't get back to me soon I will have to press them to render a decision, as my reply deadline is in early March. Anyone received any word on when they might start releasing decisions?

Congratulations Pico!
I received information today from UCLA indicating that I would find out "within the next few weeks." I don't know if that's the case for everyone because I did apply within the first two weeks they opened for applications, but I assume most will know around that time. See you back here in 2 weeks. ;)

I received this today:
"Thank you for your email. Although we extended our application deadline by a few weeks, this will not affect the schedule by which the Committees decisions are announced. We began informing applicants of the Committees decisions a few weeks ago, and notifications will continue on a rolling basis throughout the next few months. As soon as the Committee informs me of its decision, I will notify you by email, and an official letter will follow by post. Please feel free to contact me if you receive earlier deadlines from other programs, and I will attempt to expedite the review of your application so that you can receive a decision more quickly".

Why did they send you this email? Have you asked a specific question?
I have asked Vic, if he could tell me how much longer I'll have to wait, because I ha other deadlines waiting...nothing so far...

Well, I sent them an email too... my file has been complete since mid-november, and still nothing from UCLA.
