well, it was the only institute i applied for in the US i am applying to Kings, UCL, Queen Mary and LSE in England. The thing is my application wasnt amazing, i hoping the fact that i was an international student would work in my favour. Also i didnt use the LSAC service to do my application i sent everything via post, I even booked a LSAT exam to be taken in June which seems like a waste of time now, unless i apply to UCLA Next year, but i still dont know what the likelhood of getting is becasue they didnt really explain anything to me like why my application didnt go through they jus explained that this was the most competative year and that they got a overflow of applications, so i dont know why they extended the deadline.

yikes. most competitive ever huh? Sounds like the normal statement. Scary nonetheless. I'm not liking my chances at this point.

Don't want to hurt your feelings, but the story of a given year being the "most competitive" or being than one that they have had the 'most or an unsusually high number of highly qualified applicants", is the common spheel given in the rejection letters. In order words, what else is the rejection letter to say? Anything else will make you feel like $^iT and make the school look are arrogants idiots.
Posted Mar 03, 2010 22:52
that is true, however the first letter i was sent seemed like a automated response detailing that they had alot of applicants. I wasnt happy with this seeing as i spent alot of time on sending the application etc. so i got a reply explaining that it was by far the most competitive year, i tried to ask them for specifics but they couldnt give that sort of information apparently. I asked if it was because i applied for financial aid, but the guy assured me it has nothing to do with that its based on academic performance, letters of rec's etc

Is anyone here accepeted?
Posted Mar 05, 2010 05:00
I don't think so. Don't really know when the notifications are going to come at this point. Kind of starting to just let it go.

We're on the same boat for now. If we don't get rescued soon, we may start eating each other for survival.

Now I can say, cool down!
One week ago, I was so nervous.
But I at least get admitted to USC.
I know it is very hard to wait for admission.
Recent earthquake still makes me worried.

Hi there georgeko, I'm also nervously waiting for the UCLA decision and have been admitted to USC. Have you paid the deposit for USC? thanks.

I was admitted to 2 out of the 5 school that I have applied to and I have close deadline to give my answer. UCLA is one of the 3 schools which have not yet provided me with an answer. I sent UCLA an e-mail and they told me that answers are likely to be release next months (April). I cannot wait until April what should I do?

Still haven't heard from Berkeley and UCLA :(
I've been accepted wherever else I applied.
Do they usually take this long to reply? My application was completed somewhere around mid-December.

I don't know what is normal, but I sent them my application at the very end of October. Still haven't heard anything obviously. They've just got a lot on their plate I guess.

Hey,
UCLA just offered me admission. For those interested, they wrote that: "We plan to accept a class of only 60 to 75 students this year, although nearly 1,000 applicants sought admission. To be fair to the many qualified students who await a decision, we ask that you promptly inform us whether you will attend our program."
I'm going to refuse the offer very soon, so one more seat available.

I got an offer as well. But I am not sure yet of I will accept it. So many thoughts have lead to nothing...but I am very excited...I have a deadline until april,8.
