Just to say first that I didn't receive a call.

Second, by this time, there are 132 views to this thread. Might mean that in the universe of SLS applicants, around 100 are LLMGuiders and are awaiting the interview (assuming around 30 checked the site w/o leaving a reply before crimlawyer replied, lol).

Did anyone received a phone call from Stanford Admission commitee?

Hi Doorman,

Could you specify the reason for your above question? Could you also indicate the program you are applying for?

All,

Does anybody have information on
a) whether interviews are conducted for both LL.M. programs SLS offers,
b) what the purpose of these interviews is and
c) whether applicants may receive an offer without being interviewed at all (this is what I gathered from last year's threads on this topic)?

Thanks a lot!

Hi, I am applying for LLM with a specialization in Corporate Governance & Practice. Every year they call some candidates as a the application final phase, and, as far as I know, they start to call mid-February.

I believe that this site will help you with your questions.

"Im not sure if its proper to do this, but I have listed below some of the questions I was asked to give you an idea of what this hidden bonus involves:

* What kind of work do you do at your firm?
* What are some cases that you've worked on recently? What role did you take?
* You wrote an article on X. Why did you do that?
* Why do you want to take an LLM in your stream?
* What do you want to do after you finish your LLM?
* Do you have any questions for us?

There were minimal follow-up questions.

There is a silver lining to all this, but its only a theory: the telephone interview is conducted solely to figure out if you can actually speak English (and arent a raving lunatic, even though I may or may not have bordered upon that in my interview). Very few students come from countries in the Anglosphere and I am probably the only monolingual LLM student this year. Theres no warning about the call probably because they dont want you preparing for it, but to be fair, its pretty much like a chat rather than a grilling."
