A leading international mining company with worldwide revenues of $40.7 billion, seeks a legal counsel for its operations in Africa.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
---Setting up and managing a local legal department
---Negotiating, drafting and reviewing joint ventures agreements, mining leases, farm-outs, and other mining-related agreements
---Providing guidance to project team activities to ensure compliance with company policies and legal/regulatory requirements
---Other general corporate duties and responsibilities as assigned.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:
---JD, LLB or LLM
---4+ years of prior in-house cross-border transactions experience in mining or industrial operations
---Law firm experience advising international mining or manufacturing companies
---Superb communication, management and leadership skills
---Ability to communicate articulately and persuasively with different levels of the organization, including chief legal counsel, vice presidents and senior managers
---Industry knowledge and international experience, familiarity with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) a plus
---Candidates must be fluent in English and French.

Compensation is :$110,000-$120,000 plus excellent expatriate benefits.
