I applied online to Penn Law. I sent my academic transcript and the recommendation letters in October. The recommendations are shown on the status monitor, but not the receipt of the transcript. The same is true for my TOEFL-report, which I ordered several weeks ago. I wrote an email to the admissions office, but they did not answer yet.

Does anyone experience the same problems? Any suggestions?

I am experiencing the same problem. They received my application in October, but only today they acknowledged the receipt of the recommendation letters. Although my transcripts were sent in the same package, they still show a blanket square in my status regarding the transcripts.

My TOEFL score, however, does appear in the status page.

In my case completely nothing is shown on the online application. I was bothering about that, but now I feel relieved because it seems to be not my fault.

Same here. I sent my application in October, and I am pretty certain they should have all my materials by now, but only my TOEFL (280) shows up. What are your TOEFL?

I received an e-mail from NYU telling me my application is complete as of yesterday. Very cold e-mail (saying I should expect a response by late April!).

In my case not even the Toefl is shown. I scored 287 CBT. am pretty upset about this because I even received a confirmation of ets that itmy score has been reported 10 days ago! It seems that all these "glorious" online application do not work properly. Maybe they are really in trouble to handle all the applications. On the other hand it seems to depend on the organization because Columbia and Virginia are very fast and reliable in this regard. I am a bit surprised about this performance because I have heard the complete opposite on tColumbia.

Re. Columbia - did they also acknowledge your LSAC report (transcripts and TOEFL) the next day after LSAC send it (like Viriginia as you mentioned in another thread)? 'Cause Columbia is actually the uni I'm worried about. At first they were really good about acknowledging receipt of my documents and promised to notify me when my file is complete. And now they've been silent for two weeks. I'm wondering - Are they just that busy or did the report not get to them? I even wrote to LSAC about it (no response yet). don't want to bother the admission office yet... Anyone having similar problems?

Well, my application for Columbia included all necessary things (transcript, Toefl). I managed to send complete applications to my favourite schools as I have already heard about some difficulties with LSAC. I think the people who gave me that information were right( including the evaluations itself!!!) The only thing I can say is that Virginia was very quick (maybe due to their small problems). Pennsylvania is slow although they have received a complete application from me, too. Harvard not to mention....

Daniel, which schools have you applied at and when did you send your applications? I am just curious as I am from Germany, too. It seems such a long time to wait until March for the decisions. Have you finished your second state exam yet and what are you doing right now? Applying during exam time is hard work...

Regarding the LSAC report: Yesterday I received an answer from UPenn stating that they were having difficulties, since LSAC was having some technical problems...Fortunately, I did not use their service, as I managed to send all the necessary documents in my application. Nevertheless, I think they will update the status only when the problem is solved. But they said this would not hurt the Early Application process.

But Columbia was indeed very fast to acknowledge completeness of my application. I received an e-mail on the day the package arrived and another one on the next business day saying my application was complete (I was a little bit worried about the official TOEFL score report). Virginia was also very fast: it took about 6 business day to confirm completeness. Chicago was the fastest, however: it acknowledged on the day the package arrived.

This is the email I received from UPenn today ( very friendly):

Dear Daniel -

Thanks very much for your note, copied below, regarding our receipt
of your online application at Penn Law.

I'm sorry for the delay. It stems from Penn Law's having received a
much greater number of applications and supporting documents than had been
the case at this time last year.

I should explain that the delay is limited to the notification of
applicants, and does not extend to the receipt or processing of their
applications. Please be assured that the former -- while understandably and
quite regrettably frustrating to those who have been diligent enough to
apply early in the process -- has no effect on the latter.

In fact, to answer your question, one value of applying online is
precisely that the International Programs Committee is able to consider an
application more quickly, thoroughly and even repeatedly than might
otherwise be the case.

The notification issue should, in all events, be resolved our end by
the end of the day today. This means that the online status page should
automatically be updated by tomorrow (Saturday).

Could I ask that you check your online status then? If for any
reason it does not reflect what you believe to be the correct status in your
case, please write or telephone me directly (at the number below) and I will
add a human intervention to what is largely a digital process.

I have sent more than one transcript (different courses) and they have only updated one. But I am sure there will be no problem at all.

Same here. I had 4 transcripts sent and they acknowledged receipt of only 3 (although I am pretty sure they have all 4). All else seems to be complete.
