I just received an e-mail from the Florida people, and I know that some decisions have been made on applications(I was given my decision). Some letters were sent out yesterday. Best of luck to those who are still waiting. You should hear from them soon!
OK so am I the only shmuck that has not heard back from a school?

I just reread my message and I think it was unclear. I e-mailed the Florida people (Ms. Reid) this morning asking when I could expect a decision. She then replied to my e-mail giving me my decision and telling me that my letter had been sent out yesterday. So I dont know if they are going to be e-mailing decisions or not. I just wanted to clear that up before you spent the day hitting the check for new mail in your email in-boxes! Sorry for any confusion.

UF's rejection letter is worded kind of weird. I forget the exact language, but I had to read it a couple of times to realize that it was their final decision.
No matter, I got into the LL.M. that I wanted to (GULC), which I think carries just as good (if not stronger) punch in the Mid-Atlantic as UF.

OK so does anybody think i should just shut up and wait for my reply or ask ("nag") the admissions pple to give me their decision?
Does anyone think that the nagging or lack thereof may bring about positive results?
Just want to ask them if they have my answer, but I don't want it to sound like I'm nagging...
Does it make a difference u think?
Haven't decided what I'm gonna do yet...

Nope--I am "on hold" for Northwestern's Tax LLM, and it's excruciating given that I am studying for 2 Bars and need to make a decision on what side of the country to move to in the next month.
I think I'll be calling them by the end of the week.
This happened to me in applying to law school as well. My app was on hold at one school until mid Sept.

is there anyone else who hasn't yet heard back from GWU?...........................................

Turned down Northwestern, accepted Miami, still waiting on UF

This late in the game, reaching out to the admissions office CANNOT be viewed as 'nagging'. Just FYI, earlier this week I received notification from U Miami Tax that my second recommendation letter has not been received as of yet and this is what is holding up my application. I don't give a ... as at this point as I've narrowed my options as to exclude, but this might be an analogous explanation as to why you haven't heard anything affirmative or negative. If they haven't received EACH and EVERY aspect of the required application materials (College transcripts anyone?), you are o-fic-ci-a-ly in limbo. Call them, verify every aspect of what they have and what they are lacking.
Best,

I spoke with UF today and was told that all the remaining applicants would know their decisions by July 10th. I hope that this time they actually stick to their word.

I called UF on Monday, June 30th to decline their offer of LLM Tax admissions. I currently plan to attend Georgetown, but NYU still has not rendered a decision on my application. I can't wait much longer!

July 10 is here; any updates from UF. I'm still waiting.
Posted Jul 10, 2008 21:59
Sorry about telling everyone that by the 10th we'd know. That's what I was told but apparently it's going to take longer than that.

NJ, I didnt mean that as a snide remark towards you. It was directed at another missed deadline by UF. I'm on the same boat with you; accepted Miami still waiting on UF. Classes start in a little more than a month.

Not sure if anyone is waiting on Georgetown. But tuition must be paid by 7/25 in order to keep your spot. At this point, I have to believe that GULC is full.
Perhaps someone will get into NYU or UF and set off a chain-reaction. Best of luck anyway.

Just talked to UF and was told that some decisions were being made today and would go out either this afternoon or Monday morning

Some lawschools do not use "first comes, first serves" system.
They wait until there is no other appropriate candidates that can fulfill the empty seats, then, after that, it becomes your opportunities. That's why u may have to wait until late July (or even August) to receive the answer.

the price we pay for being borderline candidates... I don't think the issue is we expect to be "first come first serve" I think everybody understands that if we were better candidates we would have been accepted already (or for that matter if we were worse, we'd have already been rejected) I think that the real issue is that, some of us have been waiting weeks or even months after application deadlines.
