Got waitlisted, but I will withdraw my application, since I prefer Berkeley rather than waiting for the unknown.

Waitlisted, not withdrawing

I have been told that the Waitlisted applicants can only submit an updated transcript or cv as additional documents for the admissions committee's consideration, and not a new personal statement or additional letter of recommendation. I was wondering if anybody has any more information of what we can submit to the admissions committee.

They replied me the following this morning:

"It is not possible to say exactly when you will hear back as it depends on the actions of other admitted students. You will hear back by mid-May no matter what, but it is possible to hear back before then."

So the we'll have news until mid-may at the latest...

Does anybody know how NYU operates the wait list? For example, will they accept somebody applying for LLM in Legal Theory if the vacancy was caused by a successful applicant who declined an offer for LLM in Legal Theory? Or can an applicant for LLM in Environmental Law fill that vacancy?

Any help will be very much appreciated.
