I would appreciate if those lucky ones with scholarships let us know the deadlines set by NYU for their acceptance (presumably, these are going to be pretty tight).
Many thanks!
Many thanks!

Hi congratulations! Can you tell us which scholarship you win in your posts?

Until March 23.

I noticed that a few people had full tuition waivers. One of the lucky one's seems to be MJON.
Could you share with us the details of that package? Have you folks been given a deadline by which you are required to accept the offers?
@MJON what happened to your Columbia scholarship?
All the best guys!

Two other people received scholarships - that I know of. The thing is... One of them is a professor at a Doctorate Program in my country (yes, in the legal field) and the other holds a PhD in another country.
As I said to these two people privately... This is a little disheartening, isn't it? I mean, I haven't received my mailed letter of admission yet, but my qualifications do not contain a PhD (before applying for NYU, I didn't even think people with a PhD would be applying for an LLM). Since NYU has merit-based scholarships, would that mean that people like us won't get them?
I sincerely hope I get a full-tuition waiver. If not, my chances at actually taking the offer will be sadly limited.

@zemeckis07
It's real saddening to hear that. I mean an LLM after a Ph.D. does sound weird but I'm not sure that would give them much of an edge over you in terms of scholarship. Frankly I would think that gives them no edge at all.
Work experience, ambitions and grades on the other hand, might!

Hi zemeckis07!
I think you are implictly limiting the "merits" solely to academic credentials (please correct me if I am wrong). I would have thought that this is not necessarily the case. The law school might take into account other factors as well, like noteworthy academic achievements or unusual extracurricular activities, etc. Frankly, I do not know how exactly they make their decisions, but it would be reasonable to assume that they look at an application as a whole. Anyway, I would be very much suprised to learn that absence of a PhD degree significantly decreases one's chances to receive a scholarship.
Just a couple of my thoughts...
P.S. I have agreed with UPS to collect my admission package from their office early in the morning tomorrow (I live in Moscow). This goes without saying that I cannot wait to open it up...

Hey everyone,
Congrats to all of those who got admitted. I received my admission offer this morning together with a 25.000$ Dean Graduate's Award. Does anyone have a clue what exactly does the term 'a number of benefits' include - did I get a partial tuition waiver or not? :)

Hey, @Alexis. Did you apply for that scholarship, specifically? Or was it just a pleasant surprise by NYU? I ask that because my application form (and I believe everyone else's in my program, International Taxation) only had specific questions and essays required for the Hauser Global Scholarship.

Hey, no, I did not apply for the Dean's award, specifically. It was, indeed, a perfect surprise. Still don't know what exactly does it mean, though.
