I've been admitted at both NYU and Florida for the LLM in taxation. I was offered a graduate assistantship, which covers my entire tuition, at Florida. I have not received any scholarships from NYU and so my dilemma is, should I attend Florida for free or NYU for about $55,000? In other words, is the NYU prestige worth the price tag in this case? I also am from the east coast, and I prefer to practice in the D.C. or NY area after graduation. Any suggestions?

As long as you can bear the tuition fee of 55000 plus damn expensive cost of living in NY, NYU is highly recommended!

So a GA position gets, essentially, a full scholarship?
Do you mind if I PM you--I've got the same choice to make but only got a scholarship offer (not a GA)?

Florida by far... is part of the 3 top program in tax law.
I do not think that a difference of between UF and NY worth to pay $55K more... you are accepted in one of the best programs for free, think about what could you do with a savings of $55K.
Also I think is more impressive for a recruiter a graduate of a top 3 tax program where he studied for free, it mean that has an impressive background.
