NYU Offers?

ozgrl

I know NYU say that decisions will be communicated in mid-March to applicants but will they start making offers earlier than that? Im not sure I can hang on two more months! Good luck to all those who applied for 2012/13.

I am wondering the same thing. I indicated I would like to obtain a APC in Law & Business which would mean I would have business classes the summer before LL.M. starts, meaning MAY!!!! I need to know whether or not I got in so that I can plan to move to NYU or make sure everything is in line for me to sit for the bar exam in July before I head to another school. Of course, my state requires a supplemental bar app that is due on Feb. 1st. Hopefully if I get in NYU they will not make me forfeit what I have already deposited for the bar and allow me to postpone taking it until the summer after my LL.M.

I apply for traditional LL.M. Any idea when the decision will start to come out? Last year I got waitlisted for LL.M. in International Tax in mid-March. So, I sense that if one doesn't get in by the end of February, it's will be a bad sign.

Well I submitted my application via LSAC on 5 December and I only today got my email from NYU confirming my application was complete. So I guess the wait has only just begun!

Oh totally agree re time frames. Not criticising a mid march deadline at all. It must be a huge job for the admissions committees to even make that deadline. Doesnt stop me wanting to know sooner! I just have to keep my excitement levels contained for another 6 weeks.

~USD 50'000/y tuition x 900 students = "fair enough" to adequately staff the admissions committee :-)

First to hear from NYU will be the one who have got scholarships...!!! Probably no other school is as generous with aid as NYU is..... :P
NYU does enroll 400+ students, however (approx) 175 of them is domestic tax llm students...tax guys may have already started to hear from NYU...few are exchange students ..they leave after one semester..effectively the size of regular international non tax llm student may be less than 300!!

Congrats Runnergirl. That might be the hardest program in this country.

Btw, anyone who applied for traditional LLM and already admitted?

Congrats - may I ask what the "status" line now reads?

Also admitted today via email. Domestic tier-three top 5% JD student, exec. ed. LR (unpublished), A+s and CALI awards in both JD tax classes, CPA cert. holder. I sent my app. in 12/30/11, received confirmation of a complete app. on 1/24/12, and received confirmation of admission today (2/2/12). My status is "Application complete and under review" as of 1/29/12, with nothing remaining in the requirements list (where your transcripts, etc. are usually listed). Good luck to those still awaiting decisions!

same here... my status says "application complete and under review" with a current status date of 10/19/11. I'm thinking maybe they just sent out the first wave of domestic tax acceptances yesterday.
