And does the fact that I received an offer from NYU@NUS mean I didnt get admitted for NYU LLM?

Hi llmapplicant,

You could have probably got admitted to NYU too.
In my application i had also indicated NYU as my first choice. So when I got my admission materials by mail, the offer letter indicated that if I decline the NYU@NUS offer, I will receive an offer for NYU LLM in spring. However, I will not be getting any scholarship for the traditional NYU LLM.

So maybe just wait to receive your offer materials!

Hello everyone. I just got admitted with a $15,000 NYU@NUS Deans' Award. I'm feel really grateful but I'm concerned the previous post where someone said this will be the last time they offer this program. Does anyone have additional information about this?

Hello everyone,

I'm not sure if I'll go for the hostel route because accdg to my sister who studied in NUS in undergrad, the graduate student rates are much more expensive. I'm thinking of just sharing a cndominium with her but it still depends on the distance of the condo from bukit timah. I think I am fine up to an hour away distance. I am curious as to what are the plans of those who will accept the offer..

Hi!
For all the applicants who already received a response from NYU: when did you send your application form?
I applied but no answer received yet.
Thanks!

Hi. I sent my application just a few days before the official deadline. It was transmitted on December 12, 2012. I don't think it has any relation to the time you get your acceptance email. Is someone going to create a facebook group for NYU@NUS 2013/14? There is one for the previous year.

The Facebook group seems like a good idea...however, I'm still thinking about whether to accept the offer or no....someone who has confirmed the offer can make it and post the link here...

Although I submitted my file before the deadline, my LSAC docs were sent by January 15th, so I think they are going to take a little more time to have my application reviewed. That concerns me because I have already received an offer from Berkeley and I have until March 1st to answer them.

What do you think about writing an email to NYU asking for issue a response before Berkeley's deadline? I would prefer to go to NYU, so I will be interested in hearing from them before March 1st arrives.

Thank you for your comments!

Hi!
So I have been thinking about this Program and the more I find out about it, the more attractive it appears!! I have really read good reviews on the internet. In fact, I havent read a single negative view on it!
So I plan to accept the offer soon!
Also, Gregor2009 - thanks for your comments! They have also helped me make my decision.
Bornhoaxer, I wish you luck and I hope you receive an offer soon! But you made it to Columbia, which is awesome!!
Perlas, well I checked accomodation and its a lot of work to figure out!! So yes, I want to look up accomodation and anyone else who got accepted and is thinking about accomodation, maybe we can help each other find it!
Also, those who have accepted the offer, by when do you plan to arrive in Singapore?

Hi Anika,
I have also decided to accept the NYU@NUS offer and would like to look up accommodation. I think we'd better arrive in Singapore at the beginning of May. I conducted a preliminary search today and find that it seems difficult to find a good place to live. Let's start as early as possible.

Offers are usually sent out in batches. NYU@NUS will have to wait for the first batch to decline before sending out another batch. The best bet would be to ask applicants who have received an offer what is the deadline to respond. Another round of offers should go out 1-2 days after the deadline.

Cheers

I received the acceptance email last Friday. I'm still waiting for the official acceptance letter to arrive by mail where it should state the final deadlines. I guess we should have news in the next 10 days or so.

I just received my offer with a deadline for response of March 1. I am still awaiting responses for Oxbridge, so I am unsure what to do. What are the implications of accepting the offer/scholarship and then later withdrawing? Just forfeiting USD500?

My first choice was NYU LLM but NYU@NUS is certainly looking good with the scholarship, although for financial reasons I am thinking Oxbridge would be better suited. Such a tough decision!! Anyone else making a similar call?

LLMApplicant,

That is a tough call. I am facing a similar dilemma. Got through Columbia in early review. I think the amount of scholarship you've got could be one of the major determining factors.

Hello everyone!

Is any former NYU@NUS student reading this thread? I would really love to ask a few questions to former students on their experience. For example:

1. What are you doing now? Has the LLM Program helped you achieve or come any closer to the goals you had intended before enrolling? Dont get me wrong, I believe that the program is very valuable on its own and the experience itself must be amazing. I just want to know if it has meant a concrete improvement in comparison with your previous professional situation.

2. How many students take the New York bar exam? Is the 100 hour seminar enough to prepare for it? From those that have taken it, how many passed?

I hope someone can offer some feedback. Thanks.

Hi Yanting,

Yes it does seem difficult. Also, accommodation is expensive in the College hostels, but I don"t know about outside and would definitely want to check it out! I am also planning to reach earlier in May.

Do keep me posted!

Thanks,

Anika

I have decided to take the offer as well. Will start looking for accommodation tomorrow. I do plan on arriving to Singapore by the last days of April or so.
