I just called the Office of Graduate Admissions to check the status of my application. The staff person I spoke with informed me that a letter was mailed to me yesterday. In response to my question regarding e-mail notification, she stated that I would not be receiving notice via e-mail. Ominous news. I can only presume this is how their rejections are handled.

Just got rejection letter. Good luck to all those accepted. Its been emotional.........

Not only rejected, but rejected to the entire graduate program, not just NYU@NUS = double rejection.
Probably the most insenstive rejection letter I've ever received too(and I've received a lot). Basically stated, "Everyone was better than you, too bad."
I was ready for this moment, but if NYU had its act together it should have come in September or October, what a huge waste of time and hope (not to mention 75 bucks).

Hi!
Sent application by end of October 2006. Did not receive any answer (whether email or snailmail) by January 20th 2007, when I got the acceptance in Singapore and the $35,000 grant.
Anyone has further information as to the other additional costs of the programme ?
More specifically:
1. Which is the total amount of the tuition?/Is it more than $35,000 ?
2. How much are the other inherent fees? (e.g. insurance in Sg, medical examination, books etc). As far as the Acceptance Letter is concerned, there is only a $500 fee required upon confirming the participation to the programme.
3. What about room&board? According to the info mentioned on the web site such expenses should be of $7,000 for the entire duration of the program. This means about $700 per month. Is this appraisal correct ?
Thank you.

I was admitted with no grant. Financial information is at http://www.nyulawglobal.org/graduateadmissions/index.htm including details on living expenses. I think the $7,000 figure quoted was a bit optimistic based on what I'm seeing here.

follow to that -- go to the admitted students page, "Reminders", and within the text of that page there is a link for financial services.

I've heard that the students at NYU@NUS will not be eligible for the New York bar? Any truth to this rumor?
Posted Jan 24, 2007 05:16
Yes it is very much true that once is not eligible to take the NY bar as of today.sad but true.
Posted Jan 24, 2007 06:31
NYU gives a list of countries whose citizens do not need an LLM to take the NY bar, so whether or not they attend the NYU@NUS program, they will still be eligible to sit for the NY bar.

My understanding is the qualification is not based on citizenship, but on the location of your legal education. This is a good starting point: http://www.nybarexam.org/foreign.htm

Hi Sumana! The admissions are supposed to go on till the end of Jan-Early Feb.So all the very best.

Hi! I just rejected the offer from NYU@NUS (on 01/30/07) due to some personal problems and therefore I assume that they will and are still admitting other applicants. Good luck to you all!
