NYU LLM 2014

kanyere

My friend just received an admission to the general tax program! So they're still sending out acceptances.

Just got an email notifying me that I've been put on the wait list for domestic tax. I'm ambivalent about the wait list but I'm not very optimistic from here on out. Good luck to all.

I was lucky to get admission with sholarship recently, but had to decline the offer.

Hello to everybody

Has anyone received an email like this? I sent my application with a 94.

"Dear ________,

I am sorry to inform you that the Committee on Graduate Admissions has been unable to offer you admission at this time.

The Committee was impressed with your academic and professional credentials, but found that your English language test scores were below that considered necessary for admission to the Graduate Division. According to our records, the test results you submitted with your application showed a total score and/or at least one of the subsection scores below the minimum requirements.

If you take the TOEFL or IELTS again, and your new score meets or exceeds our minimum requirements, we invite you to either:

1) Submit an official result to us so that the Committee on Graduate Admissions may reconsider your application for Fall 2014 entry; or

2) To reapply for a future semester of entry.

Note that whether the Committee will be able to issue a decision with regard to Fall 2014 entry will depend on when a new score that meets or exceeds our minimum requirements is received. Scores arriving after May 15 will be too late for Fall 2014 consideration."

I retake the TOEFL and got 99, one point less than required, but at the same time got reading 28, listening 26, speaking 23 and writing 22, which meand I meet the requirements in each subsection.

If anyone received and email like that one, pls let me know. Also, tell me what do you think about it?

Anyone else like me? I have not received anything from NYU - no admission, no waitlist, no rejection.
I emailed them and got this reply that my application is still under review...

November. Got a scholarship at another school. Would still prefer NYU, but won't be able to wait too much longer. Have to make plans to move my family, with young children. Not quite sure what world NYU lives in, where they think these logistics can be sorted out in June.

I don't think there is any rhyme or reason to it. I went to a T1 school and have several years of tax law experience at BigLaw firm, w excellent reviews. I heard graduating 3Ls have been accepted already. Hmmmmmmmm

It's quite difficult to figure out plans when you receive your admission email in june and worst if you don't get any kind of financial aid.

Still wondering my chances considering that I got 99...

There are no more scollys to go around but you can still get admitted in June.

Do you think so, considering that NYU asked to retake the TOEFL and I got 99 instead of 100, but with the minimum required for each subsection?
