NYU - International Taxation

Do you guys have any idea of how many people have been admitted to the IT program already? And if IT is the only program of NYU that is still missing a lot of admissions? I was trying to figure it out but I have no clue of what it is going on...

Waiting for an answer for almost half a year is definitely too much. It appears that there were barely any students that received an answer with respect to the tax programs (regular and int'), am I right?

No news here, too. I guess they will send decisions by the end of March, even first half of April. I already gave up on worrying - we'll either be admitted or rejected :D

I agree with you, bokzzz! Although, the main reason for our anxiety is the fact that our currency is sinking against the dollar...and I guess I speak on behalf of all the Brazilian applicants in this group. =/

The sad part of this is there is a lot more room to fall. If the US Federal Reserve Bank raises interest rates the US dollar will strengthen even more.

Same situation here - the EUR lost about 15-20c to the USD which is really unfortunate for us (and great for EU producers exporting to the US). I already transferred the modest amount of my savings to a USD account since the long-term prognosis is of the USD equalling the EUR.
I received my admission message to Georgetown with a scholarship offer yesterday, but still no news from NYU.
Good luck, guys!

In some countries it is almost impossible to even get dollars now. I read that for Russians the government had made it impossible to get dollars and were forcing people with dollar denominated investments to convert them to rubles based investment as the government needs hard currency.

Maybe if Russia hadn't attacked Ukraine it wouldn't be such an issue.

Congratulations! What kind of scholarship offer did you received from Georgetown? A graduate tax scholarship or a partial tuition waiver? How much % of the tuition fee does it cover?

I have been accepted at both NYU and Georgetown's International Taxation Programs. Still analyzing my options. The enrollment deadlines are coming soon, though.

NOF,
Congats for getting admitted to both programs! I am sure you will be happy whatever you chose - after all these are the top programs in the country and you can't be wrong with either NYC or DC.
I got a partial tuition waiver from Georgetown amounting to 20K, deadline is April 15, 2015 = )

Just wait-listed.

I enrolled at GULC last week, that won't change, but I'm glad I finally heard from NYU so I can move on now.

Good luck everyone!
