FYI: Having questioned some of the business lawyers in leading firms in France (having done an LLM themselves, or recruiting LLM students in NY jobfairs), it appears that they do not make a distinction between LLM students from CLS and those from NYU at all. To them, CLS used to be better than NYU, but it's no longer the case today. So under the conditions offered to me by NYU (Vanderbilt + research associate position), I should not hesitate.

Amyonland, I'am waiting too...
There is a rush of admission letters from NY and CLS ) But I still have none, nor good, nor bad...
Although, "the chase is better than the catch" probably... )))
Good luck to everyone, nerves of steel ))

Hi,Aleixei, It is really a hard time!
I did not apply cls, because it requires work experience, but I have none.
I had been accepted by Cardozo and U of Washington(settle), and do not know how to make my decision between them. If NYU admits me, it would not be a problem any more!

Yes, amyonland, I have 3 and a half years of experience in legal consulting and litigation and I applied to CLS.
Unfortunately, I can't help you to make decision between those U. I know nothing about them... )
My advice is apparent - examine it all precisely, different sources. For instance, try some prominent US law firms... search for the graduates of those Universities. As well, it's worth finding out carrier opportunities, job fairs and publications... everything you could find is helpful.
Anyway, I am sure you already know it all.
Good luck to you )
Alexei.

Is the NYU admission rolling, as in do people who applied earlier find out ealier? I applied in the last few days, for NYU and NYU-NUS and haven't heard anything on either.

Hey matcauthon,
how could you apply in the last few days? Deadline for NYU was Dec 1, no? I applied Dec.1, received complete notification mid-Dec. and havent received any mail yet - my friend got the complete notification much later and received a letter yesterday, so I dont think that people who applied earlier find out earlier...

Figaro, apologies, I meant last few days prior to December 1.
Posted Mar 02, 2007 11:56
oh, i see. I also applied last minute...
Posted Mar 02, 2007 12:17
Figaro, I have no answer as well...
But I guess we still have chances as we never know what is happening at the admissions committee at the moment.
Not only how they choose, but how they mail admission packages?
I consider it's not possible to mail 450 (as for NY) at once or even in two days. May be partially... first part is gone.
We can only guess now, but as long as we have no rejections, we still have chances,
decreasing day by day...(
Let's keep in touch.

I think so too. Maybe they sent out their first batch and will send out the second one soon. However, chances of getting a scholarhip is low i guess but other than that, being admitted is still very possible - personally, i dont know anybody who got rejected by NYU...

I received my ups package on March 1!
Posted Mar 02, 2007 14:26
Yes, figaro, the only thing that encourages now is the abscence of rejections.

Patience is not my strength!!

I understand that well )))
It's hard time.

I have 2 friends who received their admission letter from NYU by ups today in Paris, without any scholarship. :) good luck, and a little bit more of patience.
