I have a question.
I have been admitted to NYU (full time in NY) and they are offering me the Hugo grotius scholarship (Full tution fees covered). But there is a condition: If they give me the scholarship, I would have to withdraw any other admission from other universities. Actually it's first, come-firts-served, so If I wait to long, no more scholarship for me, but I can still get in.
My dream is to go to Harvard, and I did not received any answer from them yet. Do you think I should take the risk and wait?

Congratulations, tannaz!
Well, it's really a question that only you can answer. Do you want to go to Harvard so much that you are willing to turn down a full scholarship at NYU (which has a great international law programme) and run the risk that you may not get in? Or would you rather have your way paid at NYU? It's your call.
My feeling is that if you are good enough for the Grotius you are probably good for an admit at Harvard. Harvard is a huge programme.
I suppose one way (but you must be careful not to be too obnoxious when you do this) is to explain your situation to the Harvard admissions people, and see if they can expedite communicating your admit decision.

Hey all!
I used the 888xxxx number as user name and my b-day as password. Then the page asked me to change my password and I was able to log in.
I hope this can be helpful.

D_D,
Just out of curiosity, when you log into your application form, are your transcripts attached under the "Attachments" section? I read in the previous posts that some of the applicants had their transcripts attached prior to receiving their admission letter. I don't see any attachments on my application page, so I was just wondering... Thanks.

No, they aren't. But I sent my grades through the LSAC.
Can someone confirm me which kind of mail (e.g. fedex, ups, dhl) does NYU use for sending the admissions letter??
Thanks!!!

This is surprising. I know for sure that all students admitted to NYU@NUS had their transcripts uploaded on their online application before they got their acceptance letters. Looks like it works diferently for people applying to NYC.
Out of curiosity- Tannaz- Do you see your transcripts attached to the online application?
Is there anyone who has received acceptance w/o a scholarship? Seems like the ones with the scholarships are hearing first. Good luck all!

Hey!! I just received the admissions letter. I was offered a Vanderbilt and a research associate position :)

I received my NYU offer one hour ago. It was delivered by UPS and the letter was signed on February 22. They are offering me a Dean's Graduate Award (10k).
As NYU scholarships are offered on a first-come first-served basis, does anyone know how much time one has to decide before all the scholarships are gone?

Anybody want to start a Facebook group? Looks like we might have enough :) "NYU LLM Class of 2009" might be appropriate. Or "NYU LLM Thomas Jefferson Class of 2009" if you're feeling pompous ;)

Hi guys,
I wanted to ask those of you who have not received a letter from NYU yet if you are able to log in the admitted students page. Because I am certainly not able and I am feeling worried!
Thanks

Hi all,
I received a letter of admission last night (26 Feb dated 19 Feb) and an offer for the Vanderbilt scholarship (full tuition waiver) and a research associate spot. I had a couple of questions...
1. I see this question came up earlier, and i just wanted to repeat it in case anyone had some insight. How long do we realistically have to accept these first-come-first-serve scholarships? I still want to hear from other universities (Yale and Oxbridge) and about financial aid from Columbia before i make a final decision, but i am worried that i might be throwing away a great opportunity at NYU if i wait too long.
2. Does everybody get the research associate offer or is it selective? I couldn't tell from the letter. I'm just trying to decide if this is an added bonus i should consider when weighing NYU against other schools.
3. I know there are other posts on this, but i thought i might add it here: Columbia or NYU? I want to focus on human rights, constitutional law and legal philosophy. Any advice.
Thanks so much for all the valuable information here, congrats to those who have got in and good luck to those who are still waiting!

Mickeyb,
congratulations!
I don't know about everybody else, but I was offered a Research Associate position as well, although I was offered the Dean's Graduate Award and not the Vanderbilt, Grotius or Hauser. Oh, I applied for the corporate law program.
From what I could get from the letter, everyone receiving the Dean's Graduate Award will be offered a Research Associate position, and thus, I presume those receiving better scholarships (Vanderbilt, Hauser, etc) will be offered Research Associate positions as well.
I also would really like to know how long we may take in making up our minds before we lose the award... Does anyone have an idea?
congratulations!
