LLM in USA - 2:2 a hindrance?!

I've done my bachelors in law from UK, and due to severe family reasons (i lost my father in 2nd year, and my mom got operated in final year), barely managed to get a 2:2.

However, I've got one year work ex + one year judicial clerkship with a supreme court judge + 2 publications + mooting exp + harvard & cambridge MUN experience, stacked up

Will my grades ruin my LLM? Which universities should I apply to? I'm really keen on NYU or Columbia =(

Sorry for your loss.

It's hard to tell. I think you should apply. A 2:2 is not automatically a denial...I am at Columbia at moment and there are several ppl who haven't performed better but also got working experience. Just go for it
