Hi,
I am a Canadian with a foreign law degree (India) engaged to an American. To convert my degree as per Canadian standards, I am required to do a set of exams before attempting the Bar. To sit for California's bar (ultimate goal), I am required to either pass the Ontario Bar Exam or do an LLM in california from an accredited school. Attempting the exams in Canada take about 2 years (plus the Bar later) whereas the llm is only 1 year. I wanted to ask what the admission standards are for LLM programs around the Los Angeles area? I couldn't find a percentage online. I have a 60% average in my Indian LLB degree. In terms of program length, international tuition, admission, can anyone give me any advice? Thank you! Would you advise me to get licensed in Ontario first and write the California bar or enrol in an LLM?
