I'm also interested in the answer to this question and, specifically, whether Columbia or NYU is better for commercial law with a comparative focus.

In some rankings NYU appears as #1 Law School in International Law, and usually schools that focus on International Law also focus on Compartive Law, so I guess NYU might have a comparative focus on all its courses. However, you should check out the LLM courses they offer and perhaps they have some about Comparative Commercial Law.
