What school is the best regarding international public law and human rights studies? I have heard Columbia, Harvard and Yale. Which of these (or others) would be considered the best?

Generally speaking, NYU is the best place in the US to study public international law. You should see their webpage for more information about human rights issues. You should also consider Washington-based law schools such as Georgetown and GWU. Both are strong on PIL and human rights.
