Has anyone heard anything from any of the Tax LL.M. schools? Curious about NYU, Florida, Georgetown, & Northwestern.

I have applied for NYU@NUS Tax LLM today only. Waiting for their reply. I heard they take 4 weeks to screen individual applications.

Nothing yet... But judging by last year's posts things should pick up soon. Last year people started hearing from GULC in November and NYU in late December/early January, for the tax programs. Hope we hear good news soon!

NYU wants my fall transcript. Guess I won't hear for a bit longer.

How were you informed by NYU?

I haven't heard anything. I am a 3L too. I hope that doesn't mean that I have been rejected. Did your online status change after they sent you the e-mail?

So out of curiousity, I tried logging onto the Florida student site, MyUFL... and I was able to get in with the username and password I set up when I applied. I have full access to the student portal... Like I have a UFL email address which actually works (I sent myself an email from it), and a student account and everything. However, I never actually got admitted to Florida. I find this strange. Anybody else??

That didn't work for me. I talked to them a week ago, they told me my app was in the next bunch to be reviewed when the admissions committee meets again.

If you got an e-mail from NYU, does your status check still say "Application Complete and Under Review"?
Posted Dec 15, 2011 17:34
The admitted student site is up at Georgetown. http://www.law.georgetown.edu/admissions/admitted/
My application is still under review - has anyone changed to decision? And, if so, perhaps you can log into the admitted students site. Last year people who were admitted were able to log into the admitted students site after their status changed to decision, but before they received any notification from Georgetown.

Well I received admission offers from Georgetown and Florida yesterday. I got the offer from Georgetown via email, and Florida via regular mail. Still waiting on NYU. Good luck to everyone!!

Congratulations!

Just so I know...because I am starting to lose my mind...how big was the envelope?
Posted Dec 16, 2011 15:41
Thanks!! The envelope from Florida was small and light... it was only one piece of paper saying I got admitted. If you have gotten as many rejections from law firms as I have... it feels about that size :) So if you just get a small letter-sized envelope, do not worry, it's probably good news. Also FYI, the email from Georgetown had the subject line of "Congratulations from Georgetown Law".

Congrats!!

I just heard from NYU. It was a yes. :) I heard from UF about a week ago and it was also a yes.
Posted Dec 26, 2011 15:17
Congratulations!! Nice Christmas present :) Did you hear via email or letter? Domestic or international?
Posted Dec 27, 2011 21:14
They both emailed me but that's because I'm alllll the way on Guam. Getting mail out in the middle of the pacific ocean is not fast. Nyu did just UPS something. I'm glad they realized ups would probably be the only sure way to get things here before march! I'm curious to see what the full package looks like. :)
