The wait begins. Recently submitted my applications and I am already freaking out!

I know admission into these schools is a long shot but I am really hoping it works out. My top choice is Yale, but I am looking at some of the profiles of past Yale LL.M. students and it is mind-boggling. Some are lecturers, attorneys - it is hard to say what Yale is really looking for.
The same applies for Harvard. I am just hoping there is something that stands out about my application and I am accepted to both with generous funding.

I have applied to the same law schools plus Stanford and Columbia. I am interested in Harvard because of its world wide reputation and better research facilities etc.
I hope we get admitted to our desired schools.
PS I get an adernaline rush when someone mentions Harvard/Yale/Columbia. I think it would be over when the final decisions are out.

I feel the same. I keep thinking about the applications - keep hoping that I will be accepted.
I did not apply to Stanford because it requires me to have two year work experience and I don't. I was also thinking of applying to Columbia and Oxford.
Do you have any work experience?

I am keeping my fingers crossed and praying to get into HLS or Oxford

Hey Tallal,
Have you figured out funding for Oxford? I did the funding search - there does not seem to be many options for international students?

I did not do the funding research on Oxford as it seemed a bit complicated to me. I only did that for Harvard and have applied for it.
I think the BCL program at Oxford is not that much popular with international students because of that I think the Oxford University does not offer much scholarships.
And I think there is the popular Rhodes Scholarship program which somebody told me about. I think you should search for it.

I know about Rhodes - but only one is offered each year in some countries. The cut off age is 25 and I am just above that.
I applied for financial aid from Harvard. I think the biggest challenge is to actually get into the program - coz Harvard seems to be really generous with financial aid.

I have applied to the same three schools and i am considering to apply to some canadian and European universities as well (eggs in various baskets). Since they all tries to have diverse range of students i dont think that comparison of qualities would give us a precise underestanding of admission chances. I have already experienced the UK and dont like to see it again. I guess being busy will sooth your stress because it does in fact in my case. Hope you get what you want.

You studied in the UK..how was the experience?
Posted Dec 10, 2010 19:45
It was briliant in terms of knowledge gaining and academic life and highly recomended if it is your only purpose. I think universities like oxford and cambridge are remarkable with this respect. However, there are issues to bear in mind. If you slightly consider working in the country that you get your degree the UK can not be on top of your list. If you like the best schools in terms of valume of knnowledge produced and introduced to the world, the UK universites have not surpassed HLS or YLS yet. Finally if you like to see sunny days you better not opt for the UK unless you are ok with few sunny day :)
