A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work. Wish that all our sweat and labor of love during the time of the application process, seeking recommendation, and all other thought provoking stuff we have experienced for completing the apps will be paid off.

Truly, happiness is not something you postpone for the future; it is something you have designed in the past and dreaming in the present in order to enjoy the happiness of the future. One more week to go and the exciting moment we all waiting for will be revealed soon...

Hope that we all get in our dream university (he..he..he..)

Are we sure about the decision date ?

I think that next week is Spring Break for Harvard (and Columbia), but don't know if that means the administration stop working as well.

I think they might send decisions this week on friday.. since it is exactly the mid-march.

But they said "First, our admissions decisions are on schedule to be released by the end of March. We will make every effort to release decisions earlier, but due to the increase in application volume this year, it may not be possible to complete our process more quickly"

Idont think so... based on past years, they tend to send decisions on Monday.. I think they are going to send them on the 18th of March (next Monday)

I agree with spaniensis...the pattern of releasing decisions on the third monday of March seems to be well consolidated.

Friday indeed seems very unlikely. Monday is the safest bet, however, they might even be a few days later this year due to the high volume of applications and because the 18th is pretty early compared to previous years (which were released on 22, 21 & 19 March).

Come monday I'll probably be looking at this forum and mailbox every fifteen minutes. Heck, the frequency of coming here and logging into embark is going up already.

Are there this year more applications than in previous years? Usually there are about 1,600 applications, which are a lot! If I remember well (I admit I could be wrong) one of past years they released decisions on 18th of March, which was a monday. I put my money on next monday, certainly not on friday (that's definitely too early) :)!

I did not receive that email although I applied for financial assistance! So if the email was directed at those who applied for financial assisance and does not in anyway foreshadow a decision, what would it mean??

which email are you referring to? the email encouraging you to apply for external scholarships, or the one asking you to ask for extensions on other offers?

Hi Folks,

1.- About the e-mails;

I got the two e-mails, one on Feb 5 (...we are aware that you may receive offers of admission and/or scholarship from other schools whose response deadlines occur before HLS decisions are available..) and on Feb7 On behalf of the Committee on General Scholarships at Harvard University informing me about a Harvards scholarship for Spaniards.

The first e-mail was just a general update on the progress of the admissions process signed by the LS Graduate Admissions of HLS GP. The second one was a bit more tailored to my application, as it contained specific information about a combine scholarship from Harvard and the Complutense University for Spanish applicants only and was signed by a specific person and not by an institution. However the latest clearly stated that the e-mail is not to be construed in any way as an indication of your application status at Harvard University. So my guess is, as some of the folks have already indicated, that it is just information about scholarship opportunities for international applicants.

2.- About the date;

I know for a fact that in 2011 people got the HLS GA decisions on Mach 21, which was the third Monday of March, so be ready for next Monday! :D

Yesterday I got waitlisted by Oxford, still waiting for Cambridge and Harvard!

Good Luck to All!

Hi all,

Been grateful for this thread, thanks for all the information.

Quick issue on 'admission offer dates': by way of background, I was offered a spot at Columbia so I asked for an indication from Harvard about my status. They gave me the standard 'ask for an extension' email, which has been dealt with in previous posts. But, replying to my original email, I received another one today from the grad program which relevantly provided: "...we are unable to provide you with a definitive answer before late March. If you cannot get an extension [from Columbia] until at least March 30, 2013, then we would have to advise you not to give up the offers from Columbia for the possibility of being admitted to Harvard Law School, especially since we will not be able to provide you with our financial aid decisions until early April."

I assume other people received this? The "March 30" suggestion implies that March 18 may be a little early for offers...which I realise is an unpopular implication, but I thought I should let you all know! I'm hoping for next Monday too :)
